I will be doing maintenance this weekend.
I'm replacing:

Valve Cover Gasket
Vent tubes
PVC Valve
Plug gaskets
Throttle body gasket
Air intake hose
Distributer O ring
Belts
And any other little tube that is dry rotted

AND THE PHH! I need to get that little sucker ordered so it will hopefully get here by the weekend.

Except for overtightening the valve cover bolts, any other things I should be careful of?

Can someone with an FSM tell me the torque specs for the throttle body?

This does'nt seem to difficult, but I may use one of "my life lines" if I get stumped.

Be carefull installing the plug tube gaskets. I got a little over zealous with mine and tore them. They still work but just something to be patient about.

I would definitely recommend rotating the pully to 0° before pulling the dizzy because although I tried the marking of the location when replacing the O ring I didn't quite get it back in correctly. And although she is running good enough I need to get her re-timed.
Here is my O-Ring Replacement Album: Cruiser-18_O-Ring

Ya, that dizzy can be a pain. I have a timing light, but I really need to get off my butt and order a FSM.

Anyone have one for sale?:D

If the weather clears, I will try and knock this out this weekend. I tell ya, having never worked on a LC kinda intimidates me, especially the whole throttle body stuff, not to mention the PHH.:crybaby:

It sounds like the dizzy O ring is pretty easy when the valve cover is off. I assume you can see the gear set and get it right back in place? If not, I have the light.

I plan on taking my time too.

Waiting on another brown truck from Cdan

Got the valve cover, belts, dizzy O ring, plug seals, and hoses done. Just oreded up

She's a keeper then!

Shoot - my wife didn't even want to ride in the cruiser when we drove down to SD last Wednesday. She preferred my daughter's Scion Xa for god sake! I really wanted a longer freeway run with the truck to make sure the fix on the coolant leak after the HG was really fixed, but no... We were also unsure where in downtown SD we'd be eating dinner and the beast can't be put in a parking garage, so I relented. :crybaby:

Wait till you start ordering bumpers, sliders, winches etc. The :princess: will start blinking a lot.

This requires finesse and the liberal use of jewlery and flowers.:D
