The 4runner took the hit better than I expected. Wonder what the 4runner would have looked like if mike's truck was running an arb.

Happy no one was hurt. Need pics of the new truck!
 
Wow...... Good to hear that Mike was wearing his seat belt. He really could have been hurt otherwise. Both truck seemed to take the hit really well. Any idea how fast he was going?
 
Rumor has it he was going 5mph, or was it 50 mph.
Rick what was it he told you?

And I still trying to get the insulation that is all over my jacket off it.

Mike is 16 1/2 and it was 1300.00 for him to be added as an occasional driver of MY truck.

To insure him on his own vehicle it was in the neighborhood of 2300.00.

When I bought the truck for Mike my wife had an attitude because it was a LC and it was more for me than him :rolleyes:.

I explained to her that it was a big heavy steel cage that didn't go very fast and got terrible gas mileage. Basically he wasn't going anywhere very quickly.

She now realizes the wisdom of my purchase.

Was he texting at the time? I hear that is a huge problem among teen drivers these days. I tried texting while driving to see if it could be done safely. No way.
 
It's not just kids, as I walk my route I see all kinds of people driving and looking down at their
phones. I'm really surprised that there aren't more accidents. Lap tops too!
 
got up at 2:30am, drove to the bus station. 3:30am bus rolled out to Logan. Arrived at Logan at 4:15. boarded plane to Cincinnati and took off at 5:20am. Switched planes and took off at 9:20 to Raleigh NC. Met with seller, swapped paper work and hit the road by 11:00am. Arrived at HI express in Meriden CT at 10:30pm.

Will finish off the drive home tomorrow morning.

He's got a nice 1995 white 80 to roll over now.

Mike, paid for:

the truck
the bus ride to the air port
the air line tickets
All the gas for the drive home
the tolls

I did cover the hotel stay since it was a freebie through Holiday Inn and paid for some of the food.

Now he gets to pay for the parts and fluids to base line the truck.

No free rides in my household.
