Thanks for the comments. :)
lol I just ordered a bunch more zero rust spray cans. I found some on sale for 4.00 a can. The only thing that sucks is I gotta get ground shipping.

Eensy little update.

Finished the pass. door jam. It looks good I think.

finally something to update

Done with training and I'm finding it hard to get back into the project. There's just so much to do. Here's what I'm done these past couple days. This is the piece under the rear bench where it angles down and meets the floorboard. I messed up where you can see the large gap. I didn't notice that the metal shifted or something. I'll fill it in later. Tomorrow, I hope to finish up that area and then tackle the passenger side A-pillar. I measured all the holes etc. and am gonna use the other side as a guide as well.

This second picture is of some water that somehow got in to the cab and started the oxidation process. I cannot for the life of me figure out how it got there. The cruiser is in a covered garage and this spot is well into the cab. The roof only has holes in the and the headliner is still intact. ???

I custom curved that piece that angles down under the rear bench...with a BFH. It worked pretty nicely and allowed me to close the gap a bit between the old and new metal on the underside of the body.

The A-pillar is turning out to be a little more complicated than expected. I think I'm gonna half to cut out a lot more than I wanted to. I'm worried about that because I'd be getting into the dash and very close to the windshield. I know the basic layout of the A-pillar, but it's gonna be difficult to rebuild the sections where the dash meets it.

Finally got something to update. Anyway, I'm working extra hard trying to get this thing done before I leave. My GF is helping me too. I'm even teaching her how to weld a little. :) Anyway the floor just has one last patch to put in. I'm working on the A-pillars and the fender ledge-like things next. Got the A-pillars all cut. I just have to clean and weld in new metal. Here's a pic of the floor for now. I'm gonna paint it too.

I finally got the floors finished and painted. I also finished the A-pillar for the pass. side door. I think it came out alright. I kept as much metal as I could because I didn't have the time to redo it completely. I also redid a section of the fender attachement area. I'll have a lot more time on my hands a year from now when I'm back from deployment and got nothing to do except sex up my GF. :)

awesome, im deploying again come this summer, hope to have my 55 in the next couple weeks and learn my stuff like you have, keeping track of this one

Found an exhaust leak between the manifold and the head as well as several along the muffler connections where I did a crappy job welding. Got a new starter for the bomber. Still working on getting a new grill but got new headlights bezels which I'm working on today. Thanks! Also found a local guy parting out an 84 LC I'm gonna try to get the PS components from him as well as the trans and t-case maybe. I should just buy the whole damn motor and drivetrain but I don't have enough space and it would just sit here for about five months while I finish deploymnet. Anyone got any good tips for a PS conversion as well as a possible trans and t-case swap?
