No offense to your comments, however.....if it were that easy......
I leave my house at 0500 and I drive 135 miles to work, my commute is about 2 and half hours if I am lucky, I work 8-9 hours and then I drive another 135 miles back home. My commute takes me to some of the most congested roads in the nation, (Phila-DC). And don't forget about the short notice " I need you to fly a plane over to the Middle East" tasking that lands in my lap every-so-often.
I do have a kegerator!
Back in the day, when I had time and no money I would do this stuff on my own, now I have money (some) and no time. What I will not do is spend whatever free time I have doing incomplete/half ass maintenance on the truck, in the driveway, with no lift, or the proper tools. I could only imagine the pleasure I would have had pulling the motor and swapping 2 axles on a truck that has 220k on the clock, and did I mention it spent the last 12 years in CT? To say ol' girl has some corrosion issues would be an understatement.
The stuff that I will do involves replacing the entire interior of the truck, swapping out doors and tailgates and basic tune up work. I can bolt on stuff with the best of them, my biggest fear is doing an unsupervised Knuckle job and leaving some key components out or using the wrong grease, putting something in backwards or something else that no one has ever done before. I know my limits. I have every manual for this truck, to include the FSM, transmission, and electrical. I carry them with me so that if I do break down somewhere I can fix it, rig it or call someone for some help.

I've done the full front axle service on my 80 (axle seals, wheel bearings, trunion bearings, knuckle seals, more seals, brakes, and an ABS sensor). I'm not a pro, but I'm willing to lend a hand if this needs to be done in a day to fit your schedule which apparently doesn't allow for much truck down time. I can definitely help with disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly--not super confident in my wheel bearing setting skills, though. Keep me in the loop and let me know. I've gotten a ton of help with my 80 and I'd like to repay the karma. And this time of year works better for me.
Also, I'm still looking for a hood for my 95 80-series. I'd like it to be green, but as long as it's rust-free, I may not be picky. and a right rear taillight.

Lugboot & Jeff you guys are great! At some point in the next few weeks I hope to make it over to the "creek" and meet up with some of the "faithful". As for going back and fourth to DC, yes I have researched getting there by airplane, boat, rail, or any conveyance that will get me there without the headache that I experience on a daily basis. The only thing that helps is that I drive a 01 VW TDI that gets 50mpg, and I am researching getting the thing to run on cooking oil.
As for these knuckles, I will buy the DVD and study the crap out of it and then maybe launch a new project. Let me know what kind of beer you like and I'll make sure the kegerator is ready

If there are ABS sensors somewhere on those axles, do me a favor and pull them off. I will figure out a way to pick them up. I know I will be heading your direction some time after T-Giving.
I was down in Miami for the week and I was unable to make a parts run. I will try to make it to the parts truck on Tuesday, conditions permitting.
The truck does look pretty cool with the whopping 1 inch lift, although I have a new problem (go figure). For some reason, when it's in Park and running, and I shift the transfer case to 4Lo the ABS light does not illuminate. I didn't actually see if it's in 4Lo, I just thought that was weird. I pick up the truck on Friday and we will do more testing.

It is a 93, silver with a blue or gray interior. It has a lot of parts on it, minus the front end. I just listed the interior of my 80 on the main board. If you guys need anything let me know, I will hook up the locals as best I can, although everything is as dirt cheap as it gets.
Those tail light guards, yes - I see lots of people with broken rear lenses and if I'm not mistaken, a rear tail light guard may have saved the lense. I have some sitting around and I think that I will mount them before deer season.
