My buddy waited 5 months for a pintop kit from CJC for his 2500 RAM.

Yea right now they are saying 8 weeks, they have a large backorder arriving soon. Thuren is at eight months . I can get a 2.0 kit right now if I like and I can always go the AEV bracket lift route and keep stock angles with fenders and 40's. Lot's to decide, so many possibilities. Getting tires will be the biggest issue and may take months sadly.

Well it's officially over, she's gone! Six hours round trip in horrid storms to get the deal done but it went off without a hitch. It's be a fun ride up to this point and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going to miss her, they are great trucks. Some of the parts were robbed before trading her in and will end up on @SouthTxGX truck.

It was weird getting back into a truck for the first time in almost 2.5 years, the differences are vast and it'll take some time to readjust but the purr of that turbo diesel is intoxicating and I am excited for the build to come of which I already have parts en route. Best wishes to everyone here and I'll be sure to keep tabs on your builds to see where they go. I'll still be kicking around in the 200 forum from time to time as well. Take care everyone.

How I left her.

I hate to see it go since I no longer have a local gx buddy, but I’m sure that thing is gonna be pretty sweet. Plus, I’m getting parts I was already gonna order out of the deal lol.

I’m jealous. Love that interior and even more so the UConnect.

I am enjoying the simplicity of the truck and yes UConnect is far superior to Ford's Sync and most certainly in comparison to the trash Toyota puts out lol.

I’m really surprised even the 2021 GX doesn’t have carplay/android auto. It’s staggering.

Man that’s a nice looking GX. That bumper looks badass.

Is that the classic or premium Ironman bumper?

It's the Premium. It looks funny to me now without the roof rack.

I notice no exterior profile pic...is it so we won’t notice when you’ve lifted it on 37s, after saying it stay stock for months, thus having probable deniability that it was purchased that way?!

Sweet truck man, excited to see what it becomes.

Happy trails! Enjoy the new truck! You're GX was definitely top notch, and I appreciate all the info you've shared!

Haha, no, it was simply a constant down pour all day today so I never got a chance to snap one of the new truck itself. It's a basic stripped down model, nothing exciting in it's current state but I'll be sure to snag a few pics this weekend to prove it's bone stock lol. Still haven't decided between 37's and 40/41's, lot's to consider on both ends there.

42” trepadors get my vote

It still has to remain somewhat usable as a diesel truck lol, hence my hesitation with the 40's. But they just look so damn good.

Easy enough to reinstall the factory rack? When I sell mine, might remove the rhino, too. Unless I sell to an enthusiast who sees the value in it

Extremely easy.

I remember as a kit, when a bare bones vehicle really was bare bones!
New cars didn't come with any of the amenities below and only the top tier cars (Lincoln, Cadillac and high end models from other stables) had some of them.
  • Automatic transmission.
  • Paint options other than white paint and maybe another basic color or two.
  • Power windows.
  • Power steering.
  • Power brakes.
  • Chrome.
  • FM radio, if it had a radio at all. Note: no cassette, CD, DVD, USB. Nada, none, zilch.
  • Air conditioning/climate control.
  • Air bags, heck, you're lucky to get seat belts!
  • Cup holders. The cup holder back then was between your legs while driving!
  • Cruise control.
  • Auto locking doors.
  • Trip odometers.
  • Warning lights, other than a "Check Oil" idiot dash light.
  • A fuel gauge was an added feature on Volkswagen's! Otherwise, just drive till you run out and use the reserve thank to get you to the gas station.
The funny thing is they ALL came with cigarette lighters AND ashtrays! Today on new vehicles, those are options!!
Now, most new vehicles pretty much include all that as "bare bones"
