Temp Gauge ????

82 toy truck. I know things are getting old for it, so whats the likley hood that the temp gauge go bad?

Its been reading higher than normal. I did have the oms checked and it would only go bout half of what the book said it was suppose to.
Should I get external gauge?

Well with my one it was the gauge... and also my fuel gauge was iffy so changed both same time... actually have 2 temp gauges now... got an external glow shift combo with temp, boost and egt

my fuel gauge is good ill look into the aftermarket temp gauge. Any preferences on them?

I put an external temperature gauge on my 88 4Runner equipped with the 3vz. If you'd like, i can snap some pictures of it and give you an idea of what's involved. I tapped my sensor into the top of the water jacket on the upper radiator hose.

You can get metric adapters so the sender would be located in the factory location.
