yup but 3/16 is quit abit closer can use just have to b careful on the double flare wanting to split to to thinness

im not messing with line locks no more got the all pro kit for the tcase

Its not a line lock just a valve to manually close to trap the pressure until you open for normal flow.

The pickup had some repaired sections of brakelines, where the PO used a union with compression fittings (nut and farrel), but I am not sure of the size.

I am trying to remember what size I used when I changed a section out under the 4runner, i think I just brought a piece of tubing I cut out from the truck to Orillies nd matched it up. I thought it was a number that ended in a 32nd but it may have been 3/16th I used. been a long time ago that I blew a brakeline out at Sicily island.

Orillies had a nice selection of brass unions as I recall.

What's the cause?

Alright last night I pulled the exhaust and intake manifolds back from the head. I was expecting some "steam cleaning" on the exhaust ports, but I don't see it. I'm not a mechanic, but I know that this doesn't look right. The picture below is of the #4 and #5 exhaust ports. Exhaust ports 1,2,3,5,6 all look like the exhaust port on the left. The other picture is just a close up. Does any one have an idea of what I can expect from this?

Thanks,
Justin

looks like glycol & carbon to me

is it gritty and have a sweet smell ? am talkin bout the stuff in the #4 port
look in the spark plug hole with a bore scope bet the top on the piston is cleaner than the rest
also the plug will be kinda like the port

It is gritty, I tried to pull some out this morning with my hand and it was surprisingly hard. I didn't smell it, but I will during my lunch break. My goal is to have the head off before I leave go back south for Thanksgiving. I will post pics of the piston and HG then. I am praying you're right.

Looks like you need a valve job!

Anyone know if 16" rims off of a later model dodge dually will fit a '77 Dodge D300? They are both 8-lugs. I am going to measure today and check for coining, but I thought you guys might know better and give me a second opinion.

I have a set of 16" tires that I want to put on it but it has 16.5 rims. I found a guy that will sell me 6 dually rims that are in good shape (2 new in box) for $150. I will likely find a 7th (spare) rim at a junk yard.

depends if hub centered or stud centered

believe the 77 is stud
the later are hub

I was thinking about that myself. That is something I will check tonight. I know other people do this swap, I just want to make sure I get the right rims for it.

The guy I bought it from pointed out that it had bad tires. Tread was good but man were they weathered. When I went to pick it up, he said he had a set of 16's that I could have that were very good. He said maybe I could sell them or trade them for 16.5's. I said that I would probably put 16" rims on it because tires were more readily available and the taller tire will save a little money on the road (3 speed tranny).

I planned on using those tires to go to GA and back for xmas and then change them over after that. We got 30 miles (of a 110 miles trip) back to our house from where we purchased it in Iowa City and I lost the tread on the rear right outer. So I have to find a way to put these 16's on there quick!

I have to go back to day and swap a spare on. I think the lugs are 1 1/16" or 1 1/8" and I only had tools going up to 1" available. Damn the luck. I am going to borrow one of the toolbags out of one of my dad's OTR trucks and go at it again.

The problem is that motor is a POS. Toyota should have recalled that motor when about 5 out of 10 blow headgaskets. The check engine light should also have a switch so you can turn it off.

They are both hub centric. The only difference is that my 16.5's are coined and the new 16's are not. Which isn't a problem since I am replacing all 6.
