45 lv resto

So, I am putting the 700r4 into my lv and I have used a split case TC. Thought I was going to use the AA double shifter setup, but just found out they don't make one for the split case setup...any suggestions for another supplier? I really liked the double shifter idea for hi/low and 2wd/4wd.

Thanks,
Dukes

lv update

I made some progress last trip to St George. Doesnt seem like much now that I look at the pictures. Seemed like more work at the time.

60 parts

Just finishing install of 60 axles, power steering and brake booster. This weekend driveshafts, fenders, radiator, steering wheel and laying out wiring.

And YES, I know the shackles are upside down in the picture. :) Also, using the f250 shock towers so I can put the power steering box where it is.

I don't think your shop is big enough.. Wow.. looking great! love the seat upholstery! Killer..

shop

Wish I could take credit for the shop...it is a friend's who got me into cruisers about ten years ago. Bill Davidson. Its 3,000 ft and he only lives there in the winter. If only we could all have it so rough. Its kind of like a boat. Whats the only thing better than owning a boat?....having a friend that owns a boat!
Pictured, you can see his lv and a longbed that came from Canada he has restored.

Thanksgiving progress

Made some progress over Thanksgiving. Insulation in all doors. A roofing product sold at Lowes.."peel and Seal". A local bodyshop recomended it. A little thinner than the high dollar stuff, but I used 3 rolls at $13/roll. Steering column in, Ford shock towers in, door hinge rubber in, new brake master with painted brake booster/pump and firewall. TC seals are in with newly cut and balanced drive shafts. Wiring is going in now.

more

Not sure if I showed pics of outboarded mounts for the springs to work with wider fj60 axles. I also got the recovered front seat bolted back into the frame...not always an easy process. We had to make a small hump under the seat to cover the additional cutout needed with the transfer case moved back from the the transmission. Seam sealed, bolted in and then hit with DupliColor bedliner in the space under the front seat. Not pictured is the newly painted rear heater.
