Factory alternator being able to be quickly put back in place was a requirement, so the connector needs to stay.

Thats a requirement that doesnt make sense to me.

Putting the GM alternator is an upgrade. I consider upgrades permanent around here. No reason to ever put another toyota alternator on or he would have just put another toy one on to begin with.

The OP can do whatever he wants. But I put GM alts on to fix the expensive denso alternative and consider them permanent.

Why even leave the option to downgrade back to garbage at all?

Pretty much but I do like the permanent route also.

YOU WILL NEED TO GRIND IT TO MAKE IT FIT..... See the link to the CS144 amp alt. thread... Grind exactly where it shows on the pictures... Be careful not to grind off too much to where you grind through. Its a tight fit and I had to go with a bigger fan belt. One size bigger than the AC belt.

And there is little to no clearance near/at the motor mount.... LOOK!

And...

Basically I ran 2 gauge wire to the amp (close to the alternator) around back of the engine bay to the positive battery terminal and that is pretty much it......

My brake light finally went off and the charge light does not come on anymore when I press the brake or while the lights are on during idle.
And that was with a rebuilt OEM alternator. So now the next step is to place the 2 gauge wiring in a more permanent manner. And start working on the Taurus package. Oh and liquid electrical tape on that plug as well.
