pardon my ignorance but what vehicles will this fit ? and what would the gear ratio be?

This fits the front axle of an 80 series that was originally equipped with a locker. otherwise it will fit the front axle of an originally unlocked 80 with slight modifications to the axle housing.

This also is the same bolt pattern as a straight front axle mini/4runner with slight modification to the axle housing.

Unlike a stock differential on a mini/4runner axle, the pinion sits high on the r&p (gets the driveshaft up higher out of the way of carnage).

Due to this orientation (reverse cut gears) it is not suggested to install in a rear axle.

1970 FJ55 Parts

Just acquired a 1970 Pig and looking for any parts for this rig.

LMK what you have.

KCI airport area.

Thanks!

what do you need? I have a spare 4spd and 4spd case and associated bellhousing etc sitting on the shelf.

I have a buttload of early pig parts, what do you need. I might decide to let some go.

Thanks guys!

Well, great questions. I'm new to the 55 (My post is on 55 MUD page under "Working Pig") and am still learning about this rig. It currently runs the 3spd column shifter and vaccum transfer case, but the first gear is out of it and and I'd like to put a new gearbox and manual shift transfer case into it for simplicity. The WP is used as a plow truck on our Co. property so I'd like to just restore to a reliable rig.

So, I'm open to suggestions on parts, but I'd like to find the following:

3 or 4 spd trans/transfer with floor shift that will bolt straight up to the original motor and drive shafts.

Transmission tunnel cover

Any and all weather stripping

Front fender mounted turn signals

Rear tail light lenses

Inside rear cargo area spare tire mount

Dash pads

Glove box door

Any and all engine parts as spares

Original Toyota front locking hubs (currently has WARN hubs)

Front Birfs

Any other spare parts an old rig might need to keep it running in the mountains for another 40 years!

Thanks.

Paul

There's a thread on the 55 forum about weatherstripping. I doubt you'll find good used stuff

I may have some tail light lenses and buckets, i'll check tomorrow

They don't have repro dash pads for '69-72. A lot of folks will buy the later repro dash and install on top of the old early dash. I think that looks cheesy IMHO. Specter and a couple others sell the pads for the gauge cluster and glove box. The lower one by the vacuum transfer controls is NLA.

Warn hubs should be stock

Like i said.. i have a 4spd and 4spd case floor shift and associated bellhousing.
Don't have pig driveshafts.. If you would have asked about 20 years ago then yes i would have had them.. Might even be able to come up with the flywheel if you want to swap to new style clutch.
Use old motor mounts or shoot me a picture of what they are and i might have 4spd pig motor mounts that go on the bellhousing.

Looking for a decent 2.0 starter for fjz80 landcruiser. I was going to rebuild my starter, but found it was a 1.4, so looking for a better set of bones to start with. I don't mind rebuilding the solenoid.

Thanks,

Thanks,

There's a '94 fzj80 at the u-pick-it on 24hwy. The starter should still be in it. I think they want $20 for a starter

i have a set of FJ55 doors. in great shape. no rust, door hinge area solid and not broken. reman'd hinges from SOR. I would take some pictures but they are stored in the rafters of my garage. I am moving and don't want to take them with me. I think these are from a '74 (no wing window) rustic green and white. has regulators, glass and missing 2 door panels. $300 for the set.

Also have some other 55 parts like mirrors, tail lights, vents, etc.
