I reckon it's time to start the discussion..... IIRC we have two positions up for election this year. President and Secretary.

There will also need to be some discussion about issues coming up in the next year.... Like the Mid-west Event and to future of GFNw/TAC.

I have spoken with Chris about the President position. I called him to discuss running for the position and he too expressed an interest in it as well. The following day I found out I may not be in Kansas much longer :clap::clap:.... so that took care of that.

I therefore would like to nominate Chris Rech for TAC president for 2009 & 2010. Most of y'all should know Chris as his leadership and dedication to TAC & TLCA has been unwaivering over the years. TAC will need leadership this next year in working with the TLCA committee heading up the Mid-West Event. His knowledge and help with the planning FN the first 2 years were invaluable in getting the event put together. He is also not affraid to speak his mind when things are being discussed made don't make much since.... In fact it already has in the early planning of the Mid-West event.

I believe Chris' leadership this next year will pay dividends for TAC for many years to come.

I'll leave the secretary nomination open for now but would ask ALL members to consider getting involved. If you feel so led post up and throw your name in the hat....... PAR-TIS-I-PATE :hillbilly:

I believe we'll need to also discuss a couple of options with the Membership position as Andrew Booth has indicated his time will be spent with school. Maybe driving a Volvo also has something to do with it? :ban:

Prior to the last meeting the Membership and Treasurer positions were held by me. This worked pretty well as all the paperwork went to one place. I'd like some feedback from Andrew and Peggy if the current division of duties is working or if we need to go back to way we had it.

Oh, and I accept the nomination for the President of the Unit, oh, wait, TAC.

Put together and publish the agenda for the meeting, take minutes and publish minutes from the meeting.

Bob also served as our TLCA delegate, which reminds me that we need someone to take over those responsibilities before the elections in December so we have a vote.

Location???

If y'all were happy with Hooterville last year, I can reserve a room for the '09 meeting. If not, or someone has a better facility/location, that's cool, too.
I'd also be happy to cook again if you can gag it down:o

HA! :D

No but seriously, I have a hard time juggling everything at the moment and while the TAC Membership Officer position isn't too demanding, I often end up forgetting to fulfill my duties due to being pre-occupied with school and a house that's falling apart

I think the Treasurer and Membership positions should be merged once again, it's strange, and unnecessary, having to send checks on to the Treasurer.

OK, we're on for Saturday, February 7th. Will have microphone, screen and projector so bring a computer/pics.
Oh, and Chris, just bring Coop....that will simplify things;)

Any chance of combining the meeting with the swap meet ?

Time and daylight are the only limiting factors. We do have some bid'ness to do and daylight is virtually gone about 5pm. Swappers could arrive earlier if they want. As you recall, there is a big parking lot and I could have some of it roped off.

As far as I can tell I won't have any problems making it on the 8th, I'll round up all the membership jazz Chris gave me last year plus the new stuff I have.

I just had a brain-fart epiphany. There is another facility about 1/4 mile south of where we met last year that has a large indoor, heated garage space in addition to a meeting room with kitchen facilities(separate but attached) We could have an indoor swap meet and the meeting/meal.
The space is large(about 60x60, IIRC) enough to pull in 4, maybe 5, 16' trailers. It is kind of a livestock show barn with concrete floors and great lighting. Overall, it is not as elegant as the Community Center and the rent is less:eek: Like maybe $50. Lots of covered parking, too.
LMK what you think and I'll change the reservation.

We would not have a computer, but there is a screen.

OK, I just called and switched from 08FEB09 at the Comminuty Center to 07FEB09 at the North Park Activity Center. Reserved from 11:00 am to 5:00pm. Guess I should go back and revise my earlier posts with the big red letters:doh:

I am really late in reading all this. anyway, I can be there the 7th. As we won't know Mike's schedule until the week before can't say about him. Combining the Membership and Treasurer positions is okay with me. Can't see where that would be a lot of extra work and it would simplify things. See you in Feb. Peggy

Just had a conflict come up.... I can't make it. Darn. When will they make the darn star trek teleporter so I can be in two places at once.....

This is a great idea and place to have the swap meet/meeting. Wish I could be there to get all those parts I am missing.

There's also some important business that needs to successfully occur at the "meeting". TLCA has approved $1000 grant towards the new midwest event that hopefully becomes and annual event at SMORR. There's even a website ... Great American Toyota Offroad Rally

An event at the end of the month would be a great time for a prerun, I'm hoping to make this..

I know it's early, but can we move on from Flat Nasty and focus efforts towards this event? I'm still seeing references to FN '09, does that mean we have to have an "offical" vote at the swap meet-n-feed to get on board with GATOR?

 :D

Sorry for the confusion, but FN '09 has indeed been canceled and our efforts are being focused on working on GATOR 2009. Rob R., Mike C., and I are all involved in the planning and production of this event. We'll have a report at the meeting and will hopefully be in a position to start planning how our members can assist in making this a success. Right now it appears we will be working on the raffle aspects of it, but I expect our involvement to grow from there.
