Looking for Clear Labels or Clear Laser Labels for Your Laser Printer?

I think I am going to redo mine using the above instead of paper. I will have to reformat from the original file but using clear base stock would allow for the white area of the label to be clear. One could also experiment with grey shades or colors for the black area.. I will stick with black however.

This is the way I printed mine. They came out ok on a laser printer. It was hard to get black to be a dense color black and not more like a dark gray on the clear labels. I tried both B&W and a color laser printer. They might come out better on an ink jet printer, but you've got to get labels that match the printer technology and I already had the laser style. All-in-all this is a great approach to relabeling Toyota switches.

Tom,
In the olden days we would simulate bold characters by printing over the same word/line multiple times. You might give this a try with the laser printer to get a deeper black. Since printing without feeding a sheet is not easy to do, you will probably have to feed the same sheet back into the manual tray for the over-printing.

Will give it try, Beo. Thanks for the tip.

I printed mine on clear label stock and had to do exactly what Beo suggested. I also applied multiple labels one on top of the other. For everything to look even somewhat normally I had to apply the labels to the back side of the existing dash labels meaning I had to mirror image the labels as well. It turned out good but not great. Looks better at night of course.

How about a "20 MPG" button label? :flipoff2:

I would like to get the winch in and out labels made, ive just ordered a second antenna up/down switch to modify. Does anyone have something sorted out for making these? Or should I just try printing them?
Also does anyone have a link on the details of re-labeling one of these switches?

Thanks for going to the trouble of building these NLXTACY!!

This is what im trying to do now with the clear adhesive labels i have, can i alter the pdf? How do you achieve the mirror image for print?

BTW, these are cool :grinpimp:

Thanks. I needed the labels and was looking for the thread. Should this thread be added to the FAQ?

So I guess this thread isnt getting updated anymore???

Updated in what way? I was sent a PDF with a bunch of random icons, none of which was requested. I'm pretty sure everything that was asked for is already there.
