1973 FJ55 still in the air if this is what I'll be driving to the event.
But in case I do mods are as follows:
Welded rear
Shackle lift
Full cage
PS will be done before the event
SOA with front shackle revearsal possible before the event.

Ok I will keep it basic.... as an SOA.... What size tires will you be running?

Well dont laugh to hard but probably the same 31" I'm running now they are to new to just toss them to the side and I don't have the money to buy any new tries right now. I would probably eventually go to 35" though.

Did you guys make a decision on weather or not other models will be welcome or not?

I think we said it was ok for other Land Cruiser models to come. First thing was to get as many Pigs gathered before we opened it up. FJ45's were also invited. If you want to attend Im ok with it... Will you be bringing your FJ60? Family? etc.....

FYI we might want to be carful with this. We may end up with a ton of people who are coming to the Cruiser Rally on Sunday, coming to this. I could easily see us doubling or tripiling in size.

Just my .02

Maybe we should take an official vote on it. I think we should at least let FJ45LV's and maybe FJ25's in on the run.

I would vote to limiting it to the rarer models 25's, 45's, 55's, otherwise the number of people could get pretty large. But originally when it came up I think the consensus was that it would be for the pigs and the other hard to come by vehicles.
Side note go to SOR.com and click the link on the front pg for the fj cruiser event in Greenville, SC and about 1/2 way through the slide show is a shot of me in my east coast pig run shirt.

I'll be living in the Springs at the time of the event...so yes. Locker's..35's...sliders...dents...

Whatever you decide is cool. I'll probably crash it anyway :flipoff2:

I need to know th specifics of how to build the pit for the food

Well... the basics are we will dig a hole in the ground... line it with large rocks.... burn some wood ... prep and wrap the tasty animals and place them over the coals and burry them. If you need more details I can go into that. Takes a few hours for them to fully cook. I'm going to be prepping the pits with the help of who ever might wish to join in. I really could use the extra hands.

With enough people and maybe some beer... I would like to try and get it done the day prior to everyone showing up. Because we have to burn wood to make the coals and get everything ready. One thing I wanted to bring up was if people would be interested in setting up camp in an area. That way when we all wheel to camp we can eat. Food should be done by that time. Ofcourse we would also need someone to stay behind to watch over camp. I dont feel very comfortable leaving food cooking with no one to watch over it. One year we cooked a pig on a spit over open coals.... well... it caught fire.... :o

what size rocks should i be looking for?

pit size 3x6 feet?
3 feet deep?
the more specific the better. We can use the skid loader to prep/dig the hole way ahead of time. As well I could start with the rocks

Sorry about the length of time getting back to this question. We are going to end up digging more then one pit. The main pig pit will be a little more then 4 feet deep and 6 to 7 feet long. We need rocks to line the pit. I prefer using rocks between the size of a large orange to grapefruit. We are going to have to figure out when food will be served at basecamp. And then subtract 18 hours to dig the pits and allow the fire to burn down to coals then put in the food to cook. Its going to take at least 10-12 hours to cook the pigs. Birds wont be more then 5 or so hours. Veggies and other plants shouldnt be more then a couple hours.
