I am swapping from the Sombrero to the TOYOTA grill this weekend and I can't seem to find the thread here in our clubhouse on the two who swapped grills. I remember it being pretty simple but I just wanted to review it before I tackle this.

P.S. anyone interested in a Sombrero Grill?

Maybe I should swap you Mark, so my old girl doesn't feel like she looks so old with her TOYOTA script on the grill?

Thanks Alan, the one thread I found in the 80's section talked more about Cobbler, talk about a tasty Hi-Jack.!!!

I will search hear under Mo but it seems like I just need to trim some tabs. Good opportunity to use the new grinder I got for my B-Day. :D

Hey - gotta love Mo's OCDness! hehehe I can only attempt to be as OCD as Mo and Boyd! Damn - I'm trying to obsess over the engine...even to the point of trading Mark his grill (comment to put the hijack back on the original thread topic) :flipoff2:

Mark, let me know if you want to part with your Sombrero grill.

I'm looking for an extra grill for a project. :grinpimp:

I have an extra TOYOTA grill in good shape if anyone is interested. Bought it to perhaps black it out or somehting but never got around to it.

I have the valance (piece that holds the turn signals) in white that is required to swap to the TOYOTA grill if anyone needs one of those.

It's not actually required but it does eliminate the gap between the valance and the older grill's. I would be interested but I don't have the cash at this moment, but if you still have it when I scrape up some cash I will hit you up.

Just let me know whenever. It's up in the rafters of my garage, collecting dust and not going anywhere.

Thanks for the compliment Brent but Mo took my OCD card away because the screws on the top of my front license plate were different than the screws on the bottom.

I have since corrected the problem and petitioned to get my card back; unfortunately there is a one year probationary period before I can be considered worthy.

Easy as pie but that's because I didn't get into the OCD yet!

Once I get a older valance then I will get into painting the grill and I will probably get rid of the bug guard and paint the hood as well at that point.

So here are some pics and full write-up.

Yeah, it will look better once I get the older front valance and paint the grill. Now I just need to decide if I should stick with black or go gray like the rest of the rig. I am thinking gray since I plan to do a tube front bumper and that will be painted gray like the rear bumper. Then I need to decide if I get rid of all the chrome or just the lower chrome under the head lights.

Looks good Mark. I did my entire grill semi-flat black and am very happy with the result but I have black bumpers front and rear. I bet yours would look really good grey to match.

That would be sweet. ;)
