We recently did the 860's in a customers truck. No load on the rear but a small roofrack. In my opinion it gave the perfect amount of lift and a nice ride. Would not handle to much wheight when loaded up for for running around in stock form with a lift I think that is a good option.

This sounds like a good option. For weight handling, what about a set of AirLifts in back to help out on the rare occassions that the truck will be really loaded up?

This is what I have been thinking about doing as well. 95% of the time I am unloaded but that other 5% I am completly sitting on the bump stops. I could run do an on-board air system and just air up when I needed to haul the extra stuff. This may not be ideal for rock crawling but for my expedition style trips it might be the best option.

Technically yes it is the same numbers. It just does not drive the same. I put 866's in the rear of my truck even before I had the rear bumper on it, and it drove fine. It sat a little high in the back, but I liked that so that when I hook the trailer up, it sat level. It is slightly lower now that I put the bumper on the back, and the ride is fine.

When we tried 863's in the back of a previous truck, it was way to high and stiff. Sometimes the numbers on the springs does not translate to real world experience. Don't as me why.

It might but I like the progressive spring more for people that might load it up once in a while.

Just wanted to thank the boys at Slee that did a great job on my LC.The 860's feel wonderful (not to hard, not to soft, just right). I'll post pic's in the pic thread soon. Thanks again for doing a great job:cheers:

Which rear shocks did you get?

Right at 2.5" in the rear. No bumpers

WOW! Sounds like another great solution. Added height, nice ride....like my 865 setup with 15mm packers....only better....860 is all spring! Sweet!

for my vehicle i am using 864 is ok to change to 863 with 30 mm Trims packs ?

i already changed my tires to 32'' and the driving in 864 is so heavy for me for stock bomber what do u suggest ??:)

its now match the front lift but is it ok to use 30 mm trims ??

it only took me over two hours to get the rear passenger shock off....awesome access to work:rolleyes: rust and corrosion are not helpful...shocks and coils on tomorrow...front shocks were not that bad...anyone want to buy 4 bent to hell shocks, you could use them to hit stuff when your shocks won't come off when you want them to..I may make one into a lamp for all my troubles....Do not buy any vehicle with any history of being in a rust belt state!!!!

Just a footnote for you: Get the new rear upper shock mount nuts really tight...then check them, even as big a PITA as they are to access, after about 500-miles as mine loosened considerably.

what is the best way you guys have found to tighten the top nut on the rear shocks...there seems to be barely any threads pushed thru the bushings and washers...I have the correct bushings and washers from the 80 series from Slee....what tool and how maybe pics if possible...thanks...

Sorry can't help on that...I have the 101's that bolted up just fine (with the exception of little room to wrench  )

Everything is on including tires..I will post some pics..I just need to retain coils and do the bumpstops...I can hardly wait to remove the rear shocks again:rolleyes:

Thanks for the tips

Just think how much more this modification will be appreciated considering the work that went into it.

We await pictures!

I use Photoshop Elements to resize mine. Or any photo editing software will do it. Or just set your digital camera, for the 'MUD shots, on the lowest resolution setting.

Any "techy" thoughts as to why the big differenece between an 80 and 100?

You seen my pics above. The 863 only gets about 3" on an 80. Ideas?

John, my 80 got 4" up when I put on the 863s on it unloaded.

I think I figured the pictures out...

So what's the difference between the OME 866 and 863? On the Slee site they're both listed under the Heavy Load Kits.

I would just plan on using the N101/N133 shocks (whichever is the rear #) so I shouldn't have the unseating problem with the 866 spring, right?

I plan no immediate or near-term mods like a rear or front bumper, just will occasionally load the LC up with camping gear, etc.

So far I've been thinking I'd go with the 865 Medium load with the heavy load shocks...
