Just having a little fun...T, no need to go on the defensive. Your choice to drink or not to is solely yours and everyone will respect it either way.

I wasn't getting defensive at all. I'm chill. Etc. Sorry if it came off that way. :grinpimp:

Also, I mapquested how to get there, and after being on the 101S for 191.7 miles, I'm to turn onto Spyglass Drive, turn left onto Shell Beach Road, and then make a right onto Pier Ave, does that sound right?

Because I'm a moron when it comes to following directions. And mapquest tends to leave stuff out.

T. Pants, stay on 101 a little farther. You'll see the dunes in the distance as you pass Spyglass.

You'll get off on HWY 1, second exit after spyglass IIRC.

Drive through downtown Pismo, maybe 3-4 miles to get to the Pier Avenue (light) ramp. You can't miss it, follow the one of the million cruisers you'll see.

Not to get too geeky on the radio thing, but that William's Hill repeater has amazing coverage on the East side. I first hit it about Santa Nella on I-5, and had clear access into the repeater all the way to the base of the grapevine. Noone seems to use the system and at one point I got the Mt. Lowe machine, triggered the Williams Hill repeater and switched in time to hear the squelch tail on Mt. Lowe. What that means, is that from just a little south of Stockton, you can talk directly to the beach on the linked repeater system! We'll try that for real tomorrow. Very cool.

That system is very quiet, and noone is monitoring it most of the time. It should work great for Surf and Turf if the sponsor doesn't mind us using his machine.

That's very cool and you heard BigJim was monitoring on Echolink. That makes it worldwide!

BTW, I tried calling you today on Lowe around 2:30-3:00 but no contact. I'll try to listen while setting up camp tomorrow morning.

Oh, I make direct contact with the owner via Email. He's very happy we are using the system. :)

Is there a preferred CB channel for us Luddites?

:flipoff2:

We generally use day of the week.

Anyone by chance starting out of or driving through San Jose/Cupertino? I've got a set of 62 springs that have been there for a month+ and I would like to get my hands on them. A 12-pack of your favorite beer can be chilled for you in trade when I get there Friday afternoon!!

As I learned the hard way last year -- disconnect your drive shaft(s) if you are flat towing. Mine slipped into 4 high and destroyed the nose cone when the unbalanced front shaft hit about 70 MPH.

Yes, there is a parking lot right by the entrance you can leave your tow rig,

I'm leaving in 10 minutes.

Should be there in 15 minutes... :grinpimp:

Bon voyages to ya,

See y'all soon!

Jimbo,

The wet bar express and taco van will not be attending this year. I have a bunch of new business and cannot leave my shop for 5 days. I will miss you!

I'm going to hold onto my prototype brantley axe until we meet again. Are you doing River Shiver?

La Cabra is packed!
I'll take a shower and me and the girls will leave soon after.

Alvaro

Not packed, cruiser still loaded from Fordyce a month ago but I'll be there either tonight or tommorow afternoon, we'll see.

Ross, I'll bring the spare nose cone:flipoff2:

John -- Uhh -- don't need the cone, but thanks. Orion is in, remember?

Oh yay!

I still have some pictures of her 'not behaving' in the early morning hours of last year's extravaganza.

Gonna bring a fireproof sleeping bag this year?

I will just get my old smokejumper uniform on and it should withstand the open flames. I will be parachuting in this year with the beer bong.
