I just got back from the beach. The season has changed, and the stories of noise and drunken drivers are exaggerated. That's the summer crowd. Those folks are headed to Glamis now that it is cooling off in the desert.

It was beautiful, empty and quiet this evening.

;)

Jim, you think the "rivier" is going to break through this year?

The is no creek at the moment. It will have to rain some before there's enough water coming down to bust through. However, the sand bar between the river - just a lagoon now - and the surf zone it not very high. It looks like the higher tides and bigger surf are washing over.

You never know. That's what makes it interesting.

If anyone arrives and it looks sketchy, wait and watch someone else go first (preferably a sacraficial jeep). You can always wait for a lower tide.

there you go.... well, close enough....

Unfortunately, no. It remains closed and will be so indefinitely. I know, it's a bummer.

Reminder: Nov 5th is Full Moon! Assuming the night sky is clear.....

Cheers,

That is awesome....Pismo when the moon is out is not only picture perfect, but makes the night runs all that more fun.

Like Matador says, Big Falls is a no go due to erosion, county road and land owner issues. Unfortunately or fortunately, SNT has out grown this tight, narrow, one way in, one way out trail.

But, not to worry,
we have a new game to test your snorkel.

You've probably heard about "high marking" in the snow mobile or hill climbing crowd. Well, the Pismo Beach version goes like this...

Drive straight into the ocean (toward your cruiser's homeland of the rising - or from our perspective setting sun), through the waves and surf to see how far out you get.

Hint: roll up your windows, use your lockers and air UP your tires.

The winner is the one who goes the farthest and still returns to the beach under their own power (during the same tidal cycle - being washed up the next morning doesn't count).

For some reason, our out of town guests seem to dominate the competition. The locals just don't get it.

Bonus Points are awarded if you return with an ocean perch, sand dab or the ever elusive Pismo Clam.

Good luck,

LOL! Is this the one where blong heep owners are allowed to participate?

Classic, simply CLASSIC..........

Sorry I won't be able to make it this year and help with the poker run....

Have a blast, take lots of pictures!
