I can just hear the chorus of "are we there yet?" every 10 minutes...

:bang:

The beer exchange idea is an awesome one. Very similar to the Micro Brat fest at the Black Hills a couple ofyears back :)

And, it looks like Metal Tech may bring some suprises out as well :D

I REALLY want a MT Pint Glass for my collection!

I've got a Duvel sticker on the back of my Voodoo...

Favorite beer. I'll have lots or Russian River & Bear Republic beers, and some fun Belgians... Bring beer, come find me. I'll have one of the NorCal orange safety flags  Also have 1.5l Makers Mark, Stoli, OJ, various mixers....

Take him to the place down by the downtown convention center where you can brew and label your own beer.

It's called Brew it Up.... we brewed our first there last year. NICE place, white table clothes... we felt under-dressed. But really nice beer and knowledgeable staff.

Anybody know if the road from the 101 to Garcia Ridge is open? I'm talking about Lopez Dr and then Hi-Mountain road.

About 10 of the NorCal FJ's are doing an early Sat morning Garcia Ridge run. Must be open... Anyone want to join... feel free.

Mark

By the way I'll be leaving the Bay Area on Friday AM 9:00 ISH, if anyone wants to meet up at the Lowes in Giroy at 10:00 ISH let me know. I'll be leaving there by 10:30 AM There will be a stop in Paso Robles at the Walkers Reserve Brewery for me to pick-up my favorite beer...and I ain't tell which one because it is not normally in stock :D

That's not FIRESTONE Walkers brewery?? If so, pick me up some of the bourbon barrel aged ale... I'll pay/trade for it!

Pretty kitty! :) We're meeting at 11am at the Prunedale Chevron for about a 20 FJ caravan. Welcome to join, or you've been warned to avoid :p

Cannot wait! :bounce2:

It's rough duty but I had to cruise the dunes today to scout and map the POKER RUN checkpoints. Getting back from Check Point 3 might be a little tough, easiest route is counter clockwise. There are somewhat steep loose dunes leaving Boy Scout Camp area that are unavoidable. But I made it (on a second try). ;)

Here's the result:
You should be able to "save as" this Google Earth KMZ file and take the flying tour.

Was this in Knuckles? I have found the 60's lack of power is a major disadvantage in those back dunes.

I'm gonna be way out of my element (dunes, not beer), this is going to be lots of fun.

Yes, Knuckles is more of a heavy crawler than a dune buggy. It's not bad if I get a run at it, but when the approach is "whooped" my suspension complains.

I'm sure a few others will take more than one attempt leaving CP3 especially if they haven't aired down their tires enough. We may position a "coach" at this location if it looks like a problem. Remember getting stuck is the best way to meet other Cruiserheads!

Good News: The weather forecast is looking good.
Bad News: No creek crossing so none of this entertainment...Sorry Eric.
