Next, you'll tell him that it's okay to run a super charged motor without the s/c belt.

 You got that backwards... That's the rest of the forum.

I'm the only one that said not to... Great job making stuff up though.

And thanks for getting some comments removed. In 5, 4, 3, ...

Should I rebuild engine first???

IMO, yes. Forced induction does a great job of expediting and exposing any weaknesses of worn engines.

You can do a leak-down test and make sure it's in spec 1st, (but the rings and valve guides will still have 240k on them) but if you're going to shell out the coin for a S/C then why install it to have to pull the engine in year or two to rebuild it?

Might as well do it right... But that's just my big fat logical opinion, it may not make sense to some.

So that's: 1Fz rebuild, S/C, and you have to run premium fuel for the rest of its life.

(You need 5:29's for 35's IMO)

Thanks for advice...Seems like my best bet is to deal with it for now and maybe do an engine swap later on once I put some more miles on it!!!!:steer:

Cruiserdan has one on a '94. That year vehicle is not as "smart" as later year models and it requires some things like methanol injection and such. It sounded too involved for my taste.

I have one on my '97--this is essentially forgotten until having to fill up with premium.
I've got a 1996 80 series and I'm thinking about a Super Charger. How noticeable was the difference in HP and Torque? Love the truck and I'm on the trails in CO a lot. No issues on hwy when not at altitude (I live in Texas) and it is a beast on trail when in Low gear but driving up mountain passes on the way to the trail is not fun. Max speed is 35mph and that is with the pedal to the floor. Thanks!

Sourcing will be your biggest issue these days. Not many of the original SCs still floating around for sale. Last I saw was about $7k for the parts.

Probably why we're seeing more and more V8 conversions.
