Supercharger install questions-vac hose routing

Well after a conversation with CruiserDan, he thought it was for the bypass valve. Sure enough, it was. I guess magnusson took off the old hose and I never noticed it. Thanks Dan! You're the man.

Anyway, I hooked the hose between the two and took it for a spin. The vacuum gauge is little more responsive but still is indicating 30 in Hg at idle, 20 in Hg at 2,000 RPMs and 8 in Hg at WOT. Still no boost. :(

What gives?
 
Reviving an old thread

Just calling this out on an old thread for future supercharger installations - since it is another one of the mysteries left out in the supercharger documentation.

Someone above mentioned: "That exposed nipple from removing the the little "U" shaped hose that connected from the"T" to the upper intake manifold is blocked off by the pipe that replaced the throttle body at the upper intake plenum, so essentially I could have just plugged the 90 degree elbow and achieved the same thing. Is that correct?"

Yes, it is correct.

There is a nipple off the front of the upper intake manifold that is left unused. It is toward the front of the engine and previously had a short u shaped hose that curved underneath to connect to the "T" (the one where the orange filter is). Once the supercharger is installed it is no longer used.

I put a vacuum cap on mine, but it is kind of useless. It "looks" more finished, but doesn't actually provide any practical value (that nipple doesn't go anywhere with the supercharger setup). I think it looks kind of mickey mouse to have an unplugged vacuum line in the engine bay, even if you know it is no longer used - TRD should've included a 10 cent vacuum cap for the price of this kit.

Lastly, the TRD instructions for the vacuum hose routing is not well done (as mentioned by several other posters). There is enough information to figure it out, but barely. :)
