Who wiped out in the suburu?

Some guy apparently out for a "Sunday afternoon drive" with his family.
Famous last words likely said before he left the house: "Honey, we have four wheel drive, we'll be fine".

Not-so-much!

I don't know how far away from civilization you all were but those people traveling alone are STUPID. Back home in Oregon people die almost every single year driving on WELL traveled roads and slide off, or they are not well traveled becuase everyone else is smart enough to stay home. Snow wheeling is really fun, but never ever go alone. Thankfully you guys came along to help that Subaroooo and Chevy.

Those subaroooos are awesome in the snow as long as it is not any more than 5 inches deep. After that they get caught up on body panels and high center.

Luckily they weren't terribly far out there. Had we not come along, there would still have been someone come by that could've at least gotten them into town to get help or home or hotel.
I think the ultimate culprit was the fact that under all the snow was a bit of compacted snow/frozen ground/mud that was giving even us problems. That little Baja had street tires and what we assume was a very inexperienced driver. Terrible combo when you consider that this is extreme weather for Georgia.

I think you hit it with the ice combo, as it lurks under the snow whe some of the weather we get with the "snice" storms in GA.
Good reason to have studded tires

Sure, we can do it, just let my wife know so she can obsess about planning it.

Do ya think a one year notification is enough time? :flipoff2:

Most folks have to park and walk to their houses when we have a storm like this.

That was after the first shoveling of the driveway. I blew through 30 lbs of salt, fortunately, I stockpiled 2 days prior.
I am seriously contemplating a mini snow blower shovel.

I suspect two people are kneeling to give the illusion of deep snow, is this accurate?

how dare you question the authenticity... It's real, no really! :flipoff2:
