you can try and go to the dealer by the airport. I know a few of us have had good luck with them. Then there is Molie toyota out on I70 in mo.

Molle is great to work with... Parts: 888-682-3033

Ive got my FJ62 at Molle right now with a bad tranny, should I have them work on it or take it somewhere else? If so, where?

Don't know if that discount covers labor..... Dealer's rates are usually higher then other shops but others shops may not be as wel versed Toyota autos..... kind of a coin toss IMHO.

Went over to Molle to talk to them about my tranny, 3k for a used one and 4350 for a new one.....the guy couldnt tell me what test they ran, but he could tell me the tranny was gone...odd to anyone? Oh and I got some stuff out of it and noticed they left the truck unlocked for one, and two yanked the key out of the ingnition without pushing the button then turning the key, so that battery is dead and the truck can now be left on (just electronics) with no key.....:censor:

And these are the same people that diagnosed a bad tranny and will replace it for you.....

Maybe parts is the only thing you want from Molle.

I called Molle for a quote on a clutch job on my 60. The guy on the line said, (no kidding here) "A manual, in a Land Cruiser?" as if to say he did not realize Land Cruisers ever came with a manual transmission. Not really confidence inspiring.

Then again, I am sure that was just a service adviser.....hopefully an actual mechanic would have knowledge of older Land Cruisers. I need to have my knuckles rebuilt, tie rods replaced and an alignment done.. any body know who could do that, or how much it costs?

I really do respect Molle's Parts department. I live up North and will drive down just for the smallest / least expensive of parts. Spending more in gas than what my discount would have given me. They have done a lot for our club more than any other business.

On the other side, their Service Managers have a lot to learn on the customer service side. I have been down twice with my 4runner and Sienna just to drive away and take it somewhere else. The one mechanic I did talk to about my 4runner really knew his stuff on them. He helped me to diagnose the problem and fix it myself.

I will still give them my parts business they are the best in KC in my book.

Just my 2 cents...

I have also used them (Molle) for parts, as I will always use Toyota parts if I can. Good service, top notch parts and fairly friendly parts guys (which is a rarity). I guess when it comes down to it service managers/advisers are basically salesman/bearers of bad news. I used to work at O'Neill Honda, the advisers were pretty good, but the best one was a former mechanic.

Present company excepted..........service writers are the hucksters of the Midway at the carnival. Might as well play three-card-Monte......
Soul-less......to say the least.JMO
