Ok, so, Upon further detailed descriptions with my father and my uncle, and many cell phone videos, we have thought up the idea that it is a spring in the clutch pack. Im pulling it ALL down on saturday for my 4.7 tcase install, so we shall see. Ive got another used tranny here thats good but slips out of gear easy. If the worst happens, ive gotta donor tranny for parts. The clutch is under warranty still so if it is the spring, i will go with a whole new assembly.

lol you will find the front bearing shot:flipoff2:...

One of the springs in the clutch pack had halfway slipped out and would hit something to cause the noise when i was driving, the throw out bearing didnt make noise, but you could feel it when you spun it in your hand. The noise is gone, so im happy.

Speaking of clutch failures, I found an odd thing when I pulled my tranny down the other day. The clutch was still working fine, no noise or slippage, but I knew it was getting time for a new one anyway. What I found was one of the rubber dampers in the clutch disk had fallen apart, and one of the metal disks on the end of it had fallen out, there wasn't much left of it. One of the coil springs had also fallen out, it was broken into 3 pieces which were tumbling around in the center cavity of the flywheel.

This was an OEM Toyota AISIN clutch, I had installed it myself 7 years and 75K miles ago. Weird that it fell apart like that, I'm just glad it didn't damage anything or effect the operation.
