I have always liked the idea of leaving the tank full to reduce the chance of condensation and rust, add a fuel stabilizer if they make one for diesel.
Inflate tires to max to avoid flat spots.
Remove both batteries and place on wood base and buy the cheapest auto charger maintainer and hook them both up,top them up with water if you can get into them.
Check or change all gear oils to see if any moisture in them.
If you are leaving it in your barn you could get one of those air circulators they sell for boats that have a small fan in them and they use very little power.
Give me the keys and i will come out there and drive the s*** out of it twice a year.

When I parked mine... Added fuel stabilizer, disconnected fuel pump, ran the carb dry, threw axle stands under rear axle.

Came back 2 years later, Threw some fresh gas in the tank, rocked the engine to be sure it wasn't seized, jump started it, drove it from Cowichan to Vic, replaced the 7 year old C Tire battery. 5 years later redid the 20 yeaar old front brakes... Rears will be next (they are only 15 years old, and got new pads 10 years ago).

When i was in those scandahoovian countries a few years back i saw a few cruisers, the police had some as patrol wagons so keep your camera ready for cruiser porn and some good old regular porn for Ryan.

If you're leaving it "for years" I would suggest emptying the gas tank completely. BTW gas or diesel?
Diesel will probably be okay then full. The new fuels are more additive and chemicals than fuel. Put oil straight into the injector ports or pull the plugs and pour oil into the cylinders that way.
This is for a year or more. It's the extreme storage of a motor. I stored a 351 for several years, and it started immediately after new plugs, gas, and battery.
Remove batteries. Get a good maintenance charger.
If you're worried about your tires, then jack stands under the axles, to keep the tires from flat spotting. Then let the air out of your tires.
Leave the windows down just a touch to allow airflow. Or just keep the doors cracked. If you live in a humid place, put a tub of floor dry or one of those 'air dry' things you get at Home hardware to keep the interior air dry.
I leave my trucks for months at a time. The longest I leave them is 6 months, but I've always just connected the battery, pumped the throttle, and they start right up.

Wombat - damn, and I don't get home for 3 more weeks!
