I have searched with no luck.
Real quick does anybody make a stock replacement tow hook for d ring shackles? Thanks

what are you asking exactly?

I don't know of a stock hook. There is a loop. And presumably you don't want to use a hook for a shackle, right?

You can buy a new loop from Toyota I imagine. As far as replacing that with custom attachment points there are numerous discussions here of the weaknesses (imagined and real) and strengths (same) of the OEM tow loops. And some folks have built replacements. IIRC there was a recent thread on an australian aftermarket one that looked pretty good.

I think that may have been what I've seen. I saw one it looked billet and pretty stout. i want to remove the stock loops and replace with something i could put a shackle through like an after market bumper but just bolt to the frame.

somebody on the 100 series forums made a replacement shackle hanger.

IMO just use your stock loops for shackles, they're plenty strong for winching or tugging with a kinetic strap.

Thanks for the link. Those are the ones I remember, bummer he doesn't have them anymore. I like the oem's and have used them a bunch. was just looking for something to leave my shackles on the truck.

you should be able to leave your shackles on the truck with the stock loops. i do it with mine currently

I'm sure there other options out there. The Aussies seem to go with a different more robust design than OEM (see below), similar design as spressomon's.

They are simple enough in design. It might be worth a call to Dan at Ruff Stuff and see if he would be willing to do something. Maybe a group buy to grease the skids and get the ball rolling then he'll stock them. If the bolt spacing is the same for multiple models it makes it easier.

Let us know. I have read the 80's and 100's are the same. I can crawl under a 4 runner to check and a couple jeeps at work. Thanks!
