Hello,

I figured it would be best to go to the source.

I have a 71 LC and I am getting ready to swap the tires for some bigger ones. I am hunting for rims and came across some stock steel wheels from a 91 4Runner. They should fit my FJ40 OK, but I need to find out what the rim width and back spacing is. The seller won't check and I don't want to make the long drive for nothing. Here is a pic of one of the wheels in question.

Will these hold up to 33x12.5x15 mudders?

Any help would be appreciated!

I am 99.9999% sure they won't fit. At least not without big spacers. They will rub on the tie rod ends.

Those will NOT fit. 99% sure. I am 100% sure that they won't fit a solid axle mini truck, which has the same knuckle as your cruiser. The TRE hits the wheel.

Thats the deep dish wheel for that model truck, the skinnier one doesn't help much either.

Thank you. I did confirm that it won't work... had about 4 1/4" of backspace.

Another reason they won't fit is the width. I know of no 12.5" wide tires that specd for a 7" wide wheel.

That is true, the manufacturer of the tires I bought listed 8.5" as the minimum rim width. However, most of the guys I wheel with have 12.5's on 7" rims. Helps hold the bead better when aired down.
