Does anyone have any familiarity with fixing sticking windows? The regulator works properly. The glass just doesn't seem to glide down as it should, and the mechanism ends up disconnecting itself. I tried silicone spray in the channels but it doesn't seem to have worked. A particular problem with one of the rear windows but i've noticed the tendency on all of them.

sticking going up? going Down? Maybe it's time to pull out and replace the channel liners? I would have said silicone spray, but you've got that covered.

Yank the channel liners and replace them. You can do this w/ the glass still in the door. SOR has them as well as JC Whitney - I've used the SOR ones @ $35 ea IIRC. Once you have the door panel off plan on about 20 min per door. It also ends the glass chattering when the windows are part way down. I replaced the DS window regulator thinking that it was the issue - damn channel liners were the problem. Money well spent

One problem I experience with the windows sticking is from bent window frames. With all of that flex and minimal attachment points of the frame they tend to bend outwards over time. Especially if they are already weakened and you install new weatherstrip. I've even had to break the spot welds and weld it back in straight.

Another issue I've seen is improper channel/weatherstripping size. Don't freakin' ask me why, but my E69 fj55 uses smaller channel than my 77 or doors from a 74 I have laying around. I have not found a channel that fits on my 69 well (besides the more modern door).

And for what it is worth, you will not see a quality difference between SOR and JC Whitney. The only real difference is about $23 per door. (I actually like SOR though, just not all their products prices) Also, you should probably clean the part the window attaches to and adhere the rubber into place, as each time less and less force is needed to yank the window off the regulator.
