I noticed that one of my front bilsteins had sheared in the exact same spot as yours at some point. Po welded it back together and its been good for a couple years now. If they give you a hassle with the warranty try it, it may hold up for a while like mine has.

Very nice van by the way.

D

Yeah, that was my plan, If the warranty falls through I was planning on having one of the experienced welders at the shop I work at TIG it up for me.

Dang thats some gnarly shaft breakage.

I wanna see the stuck truck :hillbilly:

This is the only pic I have, and its from when the truck first got stuck. Its now buried up to the body on the passenger side.

Warranty department is going on vacation over at Bilstein for the rest of the year so I have decided to have one of the welders at the shop handle the repair. That will be done tomorrow. I don't feel like waiting 3 Weeks to find out if my shock qualifies for replacement.

So instead of working over at the shop tonight I decided to build some more storage for the truck.
I think this will handle All of the tools I would ever think of bringing with me in the truck.
That way I can build the storage platform with just 2 drawers and not have to worry about tools being in there.

That's a pretty slick drawer setup, but where in the truck is it going to go?

I'm going to mount it on the passenger side right under the rear window in the back, on top of the storage platform.

CB is in and ready for wheeling tomorrow, I placed it where the junky aftermarket head unit was.
I also put the antenna on the front bumper.

Just gotta say, that thing is rockin. Been a fun follow this thread.

Makes me wish I had my 62 in NJ.

Thanks, its too bad the 62 isn't in NJ we could go wheeling sometime.

Oh, I also had my shock welded up today, that was installed as well.
The welder did a nice job TIG welding it up for me.

you liking the km2's? I just got a pair a little bit back and I love them!!

I really like them. Even with the 2F they clean really well.

New motor is definitely going to be the next big change.
