I would research all the options of sound dampining b/f I put anything into a 100 series. Its not my 62 or a 40 that you sre tryign to quite down. Roofing asphalt will smell bad if it gets hot enough, much better things at a reasonable cost out there.

I've only used dynamat extreme in mine. I was able to get a great deal off of ebay.

Has anyone put in a 6 disc version into a 1998-1999 LC with the single disc player? I am upgrading my headunit and was going to see if my buddy could use this in his 1999.

What do you have to do to put a MP3 adapter in a 100 with the navigation system. I went to the dealer and they don't have anything.

Any ideas will be appreciated

Thanks.

Example of Single Din replacement

Pioneer 4000 - inexpensive choice, but I can plug in my MP3 player in the glove box with the USB adapter and it has Bluetooth for the phone - if I ever decide to use it.

I wanted an AVIC unit, but the hand held GPS units are more portable on trails and less expensive. $150 vs. $1900 - saving for other mods and I love the added shelf for a wallet or maps.

Purchased at Crutchfield.com and they included the DIN shelf under the unit and the harness adapter for free. The Remote is sitting in the slot, great for backseat stereo drivers :princess:

I was nervous at first, but this thread made this job a
Pioneer in TLC.webp

I saw this on ebay and it made me think that the single disk unit could take a input through the changer control 13 pin. You wouldn't have control over the ipod or charge it with this but you could have a direct line in. Not sure how it would work. Might be able to take the pin out or wiring diagram posted earlier and make a diy input and even charger for the ipod in a similar fashion?

This had some bad reviews on Amazon. Is yours working OK?

Does anyone know the speaker wiring color codes for a 2000 TLC?

sorry to dig up an old thread, but i just installed a HU in my '99 LC. I wired in the amp-poweron and it still makes that clunking noise? Does anybody else have that problem?

Mxndrnks you are the master.. I searched for at least 3 hours on sites looking for this... was even in conversations with a major supplier of jumper harnesses for this sort of thing and they didnt have it...

now this should be the same for the 98 model right??

heck I even went on crutchfield looking...

update on my issues

well with the help of a few mates I got it all installed...

the cable they send out plugs in perfectly... the speaker wires all correspond but the other 4 wires that come with are USELESS.. they dont go to any power source etc... you have to find the other 3 wires needed (power constant, power switched & ground) out of the 2nd harness that provides power to the amplifier then from there to the head unit...

so we had to pop 3 of the wires out and place2 of them in different spots in that harness then place the 3rd into the 2nd harness as a jumper to get constant power I believe...

all in all was really straight forward...

factory harness to amplifier... the smaller one is the one you pull the power from I believe

What should i do if i accidently already cut the factory wire harness...and didnt leave myself enough wire to reattach it...
