hey guys! i was wondering if anyone had a steering wheel puller i could borrow? I got the part i need to fix my horn but i think i'll need to pull the wheel in order to do so....

Loosen nut but don't fully remove, and yank like fxxx.

The "don't fully remove" part is important. Trust me...

Shouldn't have any trouble.

Thats what I've always done too...and yeah, learned the hard way about the don't fully remove the nut. :bang:

cool! I tried giving it a pull the other day, didn't work out to well. I Wouldn't mind resetting the wheel anyways though, off about an 1/8th of a rotation

If all that fails I have a puller

awesome thanks, would you be able to bring it tomorrow if you get a chance? if not I can come grab it one day!

Be REALLY careful with the threads on the shaft. I had the same problem, and also installed another Toyota wheel. Along
the way some damage to the threads occurred. I couldn't believe how soft the metal was. I completely screwed my original
column shaft and ended up replacing it. I still can't figure out what happened, just letting you know to be careful.

whoa, that hadn't even crossed my mind, thanks!

You can borrow one for free from canadian tire as well... just have to have a credit card for a deposit that they return afterwards.

thats awesome, good guy canadian tire haha

If you can put a little pressure on it and get some one to lightly tap the shaft it'll pop right off . Be careful of the plastic if you use a puller .

Should be bolt holes in the steering wheel hub, so no worries about plastic. I've done the rap with a hammer trick or used a harmonic balancer puller.

I'll have a look for my balancer pulled if you still need one.

Something random I learned recently about Toyota steering wheels is some of them are magnesium. Not sure if the cruiser ones are. I should try and light one on fire sometime...j/k
