Hey guys, I just replaced my steering system from pitman to knuckles and arms. The PO had some other setup going so it wasn’t plug and play. I had to buy new used tie rod and steering rod. This is my first cruiser so I went in blind and followed th diagram. The knuckle arm is hitting the inside of the rims. I have the L on the drivers side and visa versa. I’m pretty bummed out right now

Here is a pick

16” rims. I have no idea what they are. They were already on the truck. That idea gives me hope that I don’t have to take everything apart! I wouldn’t mind new rims anyway. Even though my new ball joints are F’d. I’m pretty much drinking heavily and hoping for some good input from you guys. I’ll post a pic of the rims.

What does the other side look like? And the steering tie rod?
Exactly the same. New (used)steering rod from SOF. At first I thought I put the arms on backwards but the. The tie rod and steering arm wouldn’t fit.

So unless they sent me the wrong rod and arm, and I put the knuckle arms on backwards, then it had to be something else. The steering (knuckle)arms on supposed to face outwards, correct?

I was just curious. You look like you have it correct. Here is what mine look like.

Thanks for the pics bud. That’s inspiring. Looks like I put it together right! I also did a knuckle rebuild so I was having lots of doubt. Loooks like I am kissing a. Sway bar as well. How does that improve handling?

That's a stock FZJ80 wheel. You just need a set of 1.25" spacers to clear the tied rod ends. May want to run spacers in the rear also to match axle widths between front and rear.
Thanks for the input man!

Yeah, you did it right but it looks like you need spacers for those wheels. The wheels are cool though so spacers wouldn't be so bad. Sway bar? It is stock and I'm glad it's there but you know, it's not really a high speed truck that handles ultra great anyway.
