im changing whatever '84 colun my PO put on back to original '76

what i need help from you guys is some pics of someone who has the original set up (column and then pics of the steering box connection between column to box...that would help so muh - seeing it in real pic not super-imposed drawings...
ALSO I HAVE tri-y headers not the original exhuast. wanna make sure about a couple of things as I do this myself. Have purchased special bracket that allows box to dit on it but im not sure if it will interfere with those down-spouts coming off. let me add some pics of where im at...

This is a 75, but they are all the same from like 73 to 78ish

Ok so I have the bracket and from the looks of previous pictures that I just saw it looks like it will fit next to the tri-y headers…
Here are my pics so far…

Looks like I’ll have to cut this circled off because it ( I believe (again PO died so I can’t ask) was added to make the sure the ‘84 column was at correct angle for steering column to box connection angle…
The old holes for original are there but I think this was added (welded on for that purpose) once I cut that off I’ll have access to out on the correct angled bracket for the steering box to set the steering column back at original angle.
Just confirming that with yall…??

Also now that I’m comparing stering boxes from the one @brian sent me bec the PO also did the ‘ol tercel power steering conversation
(Which I’m debating changing to electric power steering module. Like the one city racer sells.
Pics….

So now I’m thinking - ok as long as I hook up the old column to current box I have, power steering should still work,
But if I decided hey I’m doing this so let’s do it right - get original steering box (one hose when to my arb filter that went to my old airbag arb system from 2000’s … it worked (arb l’s front and back) when I purchased (I was shown) but if I go back to old steering box, can I just get the electric power steering conversion and rake away the ‘ol Tercel power steering conversion.
Just trying to find the extra work before diving in…
My first on agenda was to get new bracket on - cutting that old welded on angled lifter off bec i don’t think it was meant to be there and then attaching new bracket - then column to box settled on new bracket correcting the column angle. And voila the old is back on and whatever worked before (power steering) would work as it did before.
I’m just attaching new column at rag joint once box is at correct angle. I have all the workbooks but I like asking you guys because yall have all done this type of stuff before and ran into whatever next issue it.

you've got some tub issues to deal with.
Well there has been some previous cutting to allow for that original conversation to occur , so fender tub has been cut in certain areas to allow for….im not afraid of a little more cutting

I do need direction here on previously-looking welded on bracket for the box to be at correct angle for old column…
Cut off?

I guess I’m gunna cut it off unless someone thinks that should be there already … so I can add the correct angled ramp for steering box per old instruction from Georg @ ValkeyHybrids
looks added to my eye so I think cut it off so original holes are available for new ramp.?
Theory sound correct ? - can’t find anyone who will do work for me so I’m doing myself, which is fine, I can do it.
But, wanna get y’all’s ideas on that perspective…
I just had surgery though on my left thumb so it’s hard to work currently.

Bump … just so I can hear someone say yes cut that ramp it was added then put on your new ramp that’s pre-drilled for the spacing of ‘76 original holes…..

That funny 'ramp' device welded to the frame can't serve a useful purpose any longer - cut it off!

Yes - your new PS box mount (much like those sold by various venders over the years) appears correct for a minitruck PS box. Don't drill anything for the steering box until you dry-fit the PS box to the column input shaft and frame, and be sure things are lined up and not under stress. Use c-clamps to hold stuff in place during your test-fit. Only then should you mark and drill the holes for the PS box.
