Hey, Could you tell me what size tires you're running in these photos?Picked wheels up for $100. Tundra steelies. All function. Zero glitz and glamour. I'd prefer 16", but they're not as readily available as Australia. View attachment 1843429 View attachment 1843430 View attachment 1843431 View attachment 1843432
I’m still using the original lug nuts. It just so happens they have an “acorn” tapered end. You’d never know they aren’t the correct ones. I also have the center caps which hides the washer. They might look peculiar without the caps.Did those of you on 18 inch Tundra Steelies or the 16 inch version run the factory lug nuts? Or did you swap for a different style?
Thanks

ARE YOU RUNNING SPACERS OR IS IT DIRECT BOLT ON? SORRY FOR THE CAPS, MY KEYBOARD IS SHOT.I recently fitted some black steel sunraysias on my 105. 16x8 with -55 offset from King Wheels here in Australia, they're heavier than alloy wheels but stronger and a bit cheaper. They make a wheel called modular that looks similar to the OEM steelies.

I’m going to guess he’s not running spacers with that kind of offset—if my recollection and math are both right, that, his wheel’s centers are 105mm further out than the factory rims on a UZJ!ARE YOU RUNNING SPACERS OR IS IT DIRECT BOLT ON? SORRY FOR THE CAPS, MY KEYBOARD IS SHOT.![]()
Did you run spacers? Stock suspension and what tire size? Sorry for the questions but I am looking into doing this on my ride.Picked up a set of Tundra Steel rims for $220 shipped on ebay last month and couldn't be happier. View attachment 1388582
Very cool, what spacers did you get?View attachment 2933887
I went with 18" Tundra steelies with Gorilla lugs. I've got 1.25" spacers all around.

This is exactly what I’m wanting to do with my ‘03 LX. Two questions; did you order the steelies directly from Toyota? And while I like the look the spacers give to the overall vehicle, are they necessary for running the Tundra Wheels? Great looking TruckView attachment 2933887

If you plan on running the Tundra Lug caps, the spacers are necessary at least on the front. This is exactly what I’m wanting to do with my ‘03 LX. I don’t think that I’ll use the lug caps since they have the Toyota Badge on them but it’s good to know that I’d need the spacers if I ever change my mind about it. Where did you source your wheels? If you plan on running the Tundra Lug caps, the spacers are necessary at least on the front.

Facebook Marketplace. $75.00 for the set of 4 and then I found a matching spare for $35 that had a brand new tire on it. Also came with the 4 center caps and the stock lugnuts. Figured it was a pretty decent deal. I just had to scrub and paint them.I don’t think that I’ll use the lug caps since they have the Toyota Badge on them but it’s good to know that I’d need the spacers if I ever change my mind about it. That was a good deal. I’ll start looking around and see what I can find. For what it's worth, our fleet maintenance guys at a large county tell me they prefer to have aluminum wheels on their heavy trucks. They say the aluminum flexes and absorbs bumps in the road more than steel. Less pounding/vibration on the truck/driver. Lighter weight usually too.touche lol
lightweight is a nice benefit.
I grabbed the steelies off craigslist for about $75 and painted them. spacers aren't necessary for the steelies and I'm not running any front caps. This is exactly what I’m wanting to do with my ‘03 LX.
