As long as you stay away from purple paint its all open to the public.

I talked to Tom McGuire at the USFS office this morning about this. He said all numbered Forest Service roads and county roads are open to OHV and ATV use. ATV users must have a special county permit for county roads. I'm not at all familiar with what's down there, so I don't know if this is what everyone had in mind or not.

Thanks for the added info d.b.

There are lots of roads and trails down there, as well as several play areas. Any trail the forest service does not want you on will have a berm or have the adjacent trees sprayed with purple paint. It is also illegal to make any new trails.

Like some others asked, I'm kind'a curious where the trail rideing will take place, to get an idea where we'll be. Main reason for asking, I know some people who've recieved tickets for being " off road ", and this in an area where we helped the Forest Serv do a trail clean up. Go figure. Al

The area we will be at is near Palmer, MO and Belgrade, MO. It is also near Hazel Creek Campground. There are several websites that have more specific info about the campground and maps to its location.

I hope this helps!

Palmer

Thanks d.b. Yes I'm aware of Palmer, thats where we had the clean up. In all honesty, the people I know who got the tickets, were NOT on the 4 digit numbered trails, and most likely deserved them. But then agin, whats the harm in riding around in some old tiff cuts ( what was mined there years ago ). PC run amuck, I guess. Anyways, see 'ya Sun. Al

Had a good time, but didn't get any pictures from Sunday. Here are a few from Saturday.

I hope someone takes detailed meeting minutes because I am not going to be able to make it. The tuxedo store is jerking us around and it is going to require a face to face. I start work at 3:30 tomorrow morning so it's no fun for me tonight. :crybaby:

d.b.

I don't think we've really gotten that formal yet but I'll do what I can.

Ever think of starting a new thread or is this one going to continue on forever?

BRIAN - had an awsome trip to CO - how could I not? ;)
See you Thursday night as usual? Would you bring the list of email addresses? tom

I see that we now have our own corner in the clubhouse, cool. Last months meeting must have been a good one, sorry I missed it. I am planing on Thursday night at Sybergs, see you there. Tom

Uh...I was at Sybergs last night...by myself. :o
Apparently I didn't get the word it was cancelled.
Any words on when/where we will? Got a real axle oil issue I'd like to talk about.

I didn't know it was cancelled. The last I heard it was on. It was posted here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=175517

I was planing on attending last night, but something came up at the last minute and I couldn't make it again. Is there a list of names that I need to be put on so I will get e-mail notices if it is cancelled. I would hate to drive all that way for nothing. Tom

Man that sucks - really sorry. I posted that I likely wouldn't be finished with work in time (and I wasn't).

What is your axle oil issue?

Sorry I missed you. I was there. I was waiting downstairs because there were a few of my friends there. I went upstairs to check a few times and didn't see anyone. Brian showed up at about 8:00 but I never saw anyone else. I was dissappointed because I attended the TAC event at FlatNasty a few weeks ago and want to talk about it. I wish we were as organized as the people on the other side of the state.

I guess were still planning on same time and day next month but it always seems that everyone has something come up at the last minute and can't make it. I don't have anyones email address Brian does so I can't send any reminders before the next mtg.

ok - my fault for being impatient I guess. :whoops:
I got there at 7:30 but left about 7:50 - oh well, on to NOV.
OK - the axle issue - oil seals are gone - apparently. Bit of the black gooey in with the brakes when I checked the rt rear. I've talked to a couple folks and looked at yotatech and the info is pretty split on doing just the seals - or seals & bearings. Yotatech has some good info w/pictures for the seals but the bearings have to go to a shop to be pressed on & off. My local Toyota dealer wants $560 to do it.
Looking for thoughts - experience - etc...

First Thursday in November is NOV 1 - see ya then - and I will wait until at least 815 this time. Plus wanna hear about TAC @ FN.
