Yeah I saw one go on ebay very similar to this one about 2yrs ago. It sold for about 25K! Even with the bad current market I think that 11k for this one should be a good deal!

I live about 10 minutes from this guy so if anyone wants me to go check it out, I'd be happy to. I've seen this truck a few times driving down Topanga going to Malibu Beach.

have you seen it? I've been in that area before and all ive seen fj wise was a white fj40 topless driving around. It that one yours?

I have not seen it up close but I have passed it a few times.

I don't live on/in Topanga but I take it all the time to get to the West Side instead of tackling the 101/405 fwys. I have a white 60 and a champagne (must be said with a Thurston Howell III drawl :flipoff2:) LX.

More pics of the redhead please ;)

I just noticed in the red head picture that the front license plate is Japanese, but the vehicle is LHD. :D I'm sure he or the PO slapped it on though.

So the rig does seem legitimate, eh?

Currently sitting at $11.6k

Photos of some of the restoration work on the truck can still be seen on Proffit's site:

Just kind of curious why the seller will only take Paypal???

"The heater works, just not good. This would be an easy fix though as they are very simple units."

If I may contradict this, and not to rain on any parade. As this is a nice looking FJ45 Wagon, but every single heater unit I've ever seen was a heater core... fixed inside the cabin, with tubes exchanging heat from the radiator core and then mixing the heated air with cooler outside air in a mixing chamber somewhere in there controlled by many levers and pulleys. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm going to assume it's the same on the FJ45 Wagons.

"The rear bench has no seat-belts but, that's how they were originally."

Next on the list, is the only other problem I see, and a minor one at that. Some states, and ALL Military installations require ALL occupants of the vehicle to have a seat belt on, even if the vehicle didn't originally come with seat belts, it must be fitted and secured properly before you can take it on base or pass safety tests in some states. And when I say some, I mean I know only of Hawai`i that's like that (and most guys doing safety checks don't usually check the middle seat of a bench seat if it has a lap belt only, but it's still best to have all belts working right). I say this because I don't want anybody getting this wonderful vehicle then carry him/her & company, and then get cited for 3 tickets of unbuckled passengers or some such bull. I've nearly had this happen to a friend and I in his old Chrysler LeBaron. 6 high school kids crammed in there, a car no bigger than a modern Ford Focus, all with seat belts on, front and rear bench seats, nothing illegal, just the cop making sure that all passengers were in a designated seating area of the vehicle (i.e. one person per seat) and buckled up. Interesting, and annoying, and true.

hey, that used to be my truck. i bought it from Orange45, yanked it out of a Barn and with help from friend Simon, it ended up SOA, SM420, FJ60 axles, ARB-rear. It walked Rubicon easily. The Poe bought it, and had Proffitt's SUA it, throw a 700R4 and do the body work. It was a sweet truck. I replaced most of the floors... though not to the professional degree that Proffitts probably did. The doors all open and shut nicely. I put an FJ60 column, and wired the headlights, turn signals, and even wipers (using FJ60 wiper with delay) to work. it's a good daily-driver.
