I'm thinking I'd rather have much more traction and slightly less height.

Agreed. All the height/clearance in the world isn't going to help you if you get traction. Of course that's why it's also important to have skids, sliders, and a tolerance for screeching metal sounds :hillbilly:

Isn't your "lift" figured in above axle terms? Ground clearance is from ground to lowest point which could be changed by lowering tire pressure?

Was thinking same... Aired down or not...your upper tire should be roughly the same shape (squashed on the bottom). Thinking Christo must have been referring to ground clearance, which of course shrinks a bit with aired down tires...but upper clearance between upper tire and fender should remain.

I never said anything about losing traction man lol this thing is a cruiser...

??

I think you meant you'd rather have more traction than *more* height?

Both work :D

Aired down = more traction and less height

Aired up = less traction and more height

Thanks for the tips on the Stauns. Mine arrived earlier this week and I was going to set them this weekend.

Ken, looking forward to hearing all about the new baby! Best wishes you your wife and new child!

For me it all depends on the terrain!

Hey - first post for me here. I just got a 2014 LC and love it so far except one thing. It has what I'm calling blind spot warning lights and beeps. They are beyond annoying since they go off 98% of the time I hit the turn signal. It's gotten to the point where I don't even signal anymore because it's so irritating. Is there any way to turn it off? I've gone through the menus, and searched around (google and here) and can't find anything. I'm assuming it has a different name that I'm missing or something. I could handle the lights, but the beeping has to go. I could handle it if it weren't so fantastically inaccurate.

Also just want to say this seems like a great site. I've found answers to a bunch of questions already by searching, and answered a bunch of questions I didn't even know I had just by reading. Amazing resource here; so thanks for that.

Welcome! All of the "beepers" on my '17 can be turned off if I want them off. I recently had to turn off the park assist function because it beeped incessantly going through some tall plants on a forest road. It will take some patient reading of your owner's manual to get off what you want off, but it will be possible.

That's really weird, your 14 doesn't have blind spot monitors. They didn't put that on a LC until 2016 and they don't beep. You should have parking sensors but that wouldn't have anything to do with the turn signal. If you want to try the parking sensor turn off, it's a button on the lower left side of the dash.

That would be why I can't find anything on it. Good info, thanks. The lights are on the dash, right in front of the side mirrors, I'll see if I can get a pic. The beeping is two shrill beeps that come on right after I flip the turn signal, and repeat every few seconds (usually) until the turny thing flips back.

I've never had a beep while backing into my spot at work or the driveway at home, and I park pretty close (my old car would trigger all the time in these spots), so I don't think that is even working on my LC, but I'll certainly try the dash switch you mention when I head home today, just to see what happens.

Based on some more informed googling and info from Like2Detail, I now believe this is an aftermarket system, something like this: Amazon.com: CSPBSD754 - CRIMESTOPPER BSD-754 SafetyPlus (TM) Universal Front amp; Rear Blind-Spot Detection System: Automotive
Why someone would torture themselves with this on purpose, I have no idea. Maybe that's why they sold it. Now I just have to hunt around for this thing (and maybe find my towing harness while I'm in there). I'll probably leave the lights, vs. having 2 holes in the dash, but I'll rip out the speaker and take it to the nearest field ala Office Space.

Thanks!

If there are lights in your dash it's definitely aftermarket. Toyota has never done blind spot monitor indicators anywhere other than the outside mirrors.

1. Is there a convenient out-of-the-way spot to store the 2nd row center headrest like there is the 3rd row?

2. Is there I way to change the radio station or XM channel from the steering wheel? Not the presets...I just want to advance one channel at a time.
