Here's a few from today. The shop is building a top competitors new rig, and it has priority because the Pro's first event is in March.

This shows the cut down front bib. Made from 16 gauge steel, 4+ inches shorter than stock. The Radiator is a Griffin, a little wider and much shorter.

BTW Nolan, the front section of frame is being looked at hard. Depending on a ruling from the head tech guy, it might get cut and at min, raised up. Considering a different winch too. Anybody gotta good (like new) one they wanna trade for a 8274-50, or buy it out right for $900 with 3/8" rope and a big hook?

More good news last nite, UROC will have a booth at the regional SEMA show here in Indy. My Cruiser will be on display there. Damn I got a lot of work to do! Where are my sponsors at ?

What winch?
HS 9500?

Looking good, Mike!!!

What o.d., wall thickness and material are you using for your lower links? Mace and I want to know :D I have found a nearby place to heat treat 4130, so I am thinking of dumping my heavy-assed 1020 units.

Mike,
All I can say is amazing! I love those guys work at the Badlands. I am thinking of too many things for them to do to my cruiser but as I said to Troy, "Am I putting 10 lbs of s*** in a 5 lb bag?" I need to learn more about what to do and not to do with the 40 and have them help me make it better.
Great looking project though.
Check you email cause I sent one days back and curious what you wanted me to do about the next visit to Troy.....
Keep making us all jealous!

Hey Jack, I'm loving your project to, great inspiration! The lowers are 2" 7075 rod, the uppers 1.5". The material is left over from an aircraft facility that pitched all the certification. They call it scrap without the paper trail. They polish up real nice if ya spend a little time with a 3m belt.

The aluminum rod seems to flex and snap back better that the 1020 links I had before. All of the rigs built at Badlands have been running them for a while and I don't recall see any bent up.

More pics coming Saturday.

Damn that looks familiar :flipoff2: But it would be impossible to make it look better :D

Mike,

I have seen this before and want to know why you guys are going with the solid 7075 vs steel? Weight?, stiffness(al being lower stiffness than steel giveing you a little more flex?)??

Thanks

Stew...

Weight somewhat, and it flexs without bending. The steel was all bent up I pulled off.
