Anyone used one before? I bought one and it looks nice and has a screw type baffle in it, but at least from the exterior looks actually like what’s on my 40 now.

My 40 has a header on it and what now appears to be a really rusty stock (at least shape and dimensions) muffler exiting behind the rear tire. It’s LOUD, and I’m tired of it. The 2F in my 45 was a whisper in comparison and it had side exhaust as well, including a large hole in the muffler!

Hoping someone can report back with experience and tell me it’s nice and quiet before I try it out and make it non-returnable.

I got mine from the local Toyota dealer. It’s fine, no issues except the cheap thin coat of black paint. I washed that off and gave it a good coat of hi-temp ceramic paint. I have a 1974, so it’s the same setup.

Is it quiet?

I've got one on my 70 1F motor, it's not loud-it's quiet/stock sounding, it's a standard LC sound w factory manifold. The paint they used on a (stainless) muffler did burn off so it won't stay black. I see you have a 70 also. I used Flowmasters largest heat shield around the muffler to reduce the heat in the cabin. At the time it was cheaper than the muffler wraps that tend to hold in moisture.

That’s great news. I’ll throw it on now and just hope what’s on there now is rotted out inside or something.

Got it swapped in. Lucky it was easy since it’s definitely exactly what I took off. I was really hoping to find a rusted out inside of the old one would have made it louder, but zero change.

I’m really surprised just how much of a difference the header makes. My 2F with a stock exhaust manifold was so so quiet in comparison.
