spare tire carrier doesn't match tool (1 Viewer)

I recently found out the spare tire on my 05 LC would not drop, of course at the worst possible time. So I ordered 51900-60194 to replace the old carrier. According to Toyota that's a direct fit for my VIN. But the concave part on the carrier apparently doesn't match the convex part/tip of the spare tire tool that came with the LC. See:

What's wrong here? Do I need to order a new tip/bit for the spare tire tool? Thanks!

The bottom piece is for a lock, if that's in place on the carrier.

Otherwise, you just use the hooked piece on the factory jack handle assembly.
