Seat frame came in last week. Guy does a great job. Everything fits nicely. Took a while to get it squared up. But I think I got it pretty close:) I figured out how I was going to mount the console. Still working on seat mounts. The kit came with tabs, I am going to wait on welding those until I get my seats figured out.
Like my bungee straps! Sumb!tchllhold!

It is about 1/2" higher than the tuffy console mounting bracket. Can't get much lower do to the gas tank cover. Hopefully it will work out.

Stop! You need to get the seats. Set them on the frame. Set roll cage in the truck. Sit in the seat.....I'm thinking your going to be sitting to high. Not sure.

Has anyone seen the cradle system, with the gas tank in the stock location, used with a roll cage that will accept the hardtop?

Jrob and Lash are right. Most seats will have you sitting too high with this system. I made a mount like this one time trying to keep the stock gas tank and was never happy with the results. My guess is that you are going to need a set of seats out of some kind of sports car to use that system. Honda DelSol seats were at the top of my list.

Well I guess I will see if the Honda prelude seats I have will work. They are not very tall on the bottom part. So they might work. The brackets on them have been modified and the bolt holes are in different locations. In other words they be jacked up! I am sure questions and pictures will follow thru this stage.

Worse case you could chop it just to the driver side of the console and lower it a couple of inches.

As sturdy as that thing looks, I'd lower it to sit an eighth of an inch above the gas tank and put some foam between them to minimize wear and squeaks. Every little bit counts. Be sure the sending unit contacts are protected.

good?

Houston we have a problem! Thanks Shush for the picture. Put seat on and setting at 16.1/2 inches were Shush's sits around 14. My old seat bracket is 8" from the floor pan , new one is 9.1/2 inches:(. Sooooo I am going to look at the slides the guy that made the kit suggest. They are low profile ones from summit. I am going to lower the frame as much as can. Maybe 3/4inches. Going to try this evening!

good luck...I can do more pictures (with better light if needed)

Better to catch it now.....rather than later.

And it looks like Shush's seat is sitting on a 3/4" - 1" block!!

Use some .25" plate and drop the driver's side down as much as you need. Gusset for safety.

Thanks for the tips. Got tired of messing with it and primed some more stuff. Taking some stuff to the FD In hopes of getting it sanded tomorrow.
Friday I am going to put the cage back in so I can finish seats and belt location. Start on seat frames then.

Ok fitting seats in. I lowered the bracket 3/8" it is A 1/16" above gas tank. I am 1/2" higher than I was before;). Now on the tuffy I put it just about were the bracket that came with it was. I shifted through the gears and it will hit a beer going into fourth on the one closes to the driver. Is that normal? I am still trying to get an answer on the lower profile slides from summit to see how tall they are. I am going to get a smaller steering wheel also like a 14" one. What y'all think

How close is your head to the cage? You will want several inches from your brain pan to the nearest metal.

If you have to duck to see under the top of the windshield frame, youre screwed.

does not hit the middle bar but it can hit the outer support bar. It did that with the other seat frame also. :hhmm:

I put the WS frame up and did not notice having to duck down any. I am going to recheck sunday to make sure.

I hope the summit slides are going to lower them down just a bit more. If I did away the slides it would work out perfect. I am thinking I need to try and keep them if I can.

Put the drink holder on the back of the tuffy. Seen it done and it works fine if you have room.
