There will be plenty of options for trails. Still 3 weeks out so things will change.
I can assure you the experience will be memorable even if the most popular trails are still impassable.
I'll be leading several trails as will several other veterans. Rest assured there will be trails...

Looking like a lot of stuff is open half way from the ouray side.

Yes. A few of them would be decent cut-throughs if not for the traffic - Ophir and Imogene especially.
I keep reminding myself that these “roads” were originally built for mules pulling wagons to/from the mines.... if they could do that in 1890, I should be able to navigate them easily in the 40...

I thought we did. Everyone else says no.
These trails are categorized as county roads. Speed limits and all. If you're good to drive the highways, you're good in the San Juans.

Yankee Boy, Governors Basin, Mineral Creek to Engineer are all worth going to. There are a few places that we haven't gone and would like to.
There is a whole world over on Red mountain most never see. They are always open. We did 2 runs that way last year. Dj took us to a spot last year I had not even found yet. 2 trails maybe not open all the way will have no effect on the event there is sooooooooooooooo much to do. If I can talk my buddy Tony into letting bring a few up to his awesome mining claim maybe we can do some high country 1/2 pipe.

I can think of almost nothing better than this. And I can’t even skateboard.

That’s borderline livin !

Well, in my post 826 I said I would do no more wheeling until departure for SAS7…I lied.

Eastern Sierra…got a call around 7:30 pm last night. Member of the SoCaL TLCA contacted me. He got my info from another member that has been on some of our runs.

He was stuck big time, alone & tried everything…even his Hi Lift, his winch gave up the ghost. He tried big time, but he was STUCK. 7:30, 120 miles from me & at 8k elevation. I called 2 other buddies who dropped everything & the 3 of us went to have some fun.🤔

Once we got there…and found him: the Warn 8274 & a Snatch Block and all was well with the world. Got home @ 2:45AM.

I will do no more wheeling until SAS7 D Day. (This is a recording 🙈)

This is Joe. This is Joe’s 80. Joe is STUCK.😊
