Been working up a model to cut out on the cnc for a mini camper for the event. It'll go on the front of my gooseneck partially hanging over the hitch

Hopefully the whole thing goes together easily. I'm hoping to burn through less than ten sheets of ¾" plywood to make it happen.

i count 12 😁

I want one lol. I need to build a good travel trailer for my 40.

I used to race sailboats hard. I spent a lot of time in tents at events when I couldn't afford hotel rooms or to rent a house. I always thought about buying a slip in camper for the pickup, but also thought they were retarded for what they cost and how little space you got out of it. You can buy a lot of hotel rooms for that money

I wanted to build something like this for a long time, but for a flat bed on a pickup. I don't need a complicated kitchen or a head. Just a dry place to sleep that doesn't cost a fortune. I didn't want to get a hotel room for this event, because I want to hang out with you dopes in the camp ground.

Two guys and a dog in my rooftop tent for a week? Ummm, no. I'd have to burn it, the dog, and my buddy by the end. 😆

Oh man. Only 179 days to go.
Damn, that will give me enough time to finish the 40!!! Ever worked on anther project and felt like you were being stalked by a different toy?

Then again, what do I know.... I just cut all my suspension out for a 4 link for SAS....

When I tell the guys I’m gonna have a h55 and rebuilt transfer case along with literally everything else done by GSMTR 32….

I'm hoping its a pretty easy prep this time. Well, compared to bending a rod right before we were to leave like last year...
  • replace master cylinder (working fine but it's the last original moving part in the system)
  • Swap 4.88's for 3.70's
  • Install standard clutch to replace self adjusting clutch whose cam springs have been hitting the fork making embarassing racket
  • Put a relay on the starting circuit (loosing too much voltage at times through the original circuit)
This year the FJ62 will exceed 10,000 road miles en-route and returning from SAS. Gosh that's a bunch of gas 😆.

I'm planning on it. I believe that was the Minniehaha mine site. It was a super pretty run for sure.

Really close to being able to cut this out.

I need to add a ton of bracing behind all of the goofy joints.
Drill a whole mess of holes
Then there's an acre of machinging that has to take place to clearance the material in the corners where the box joint is going to be.

I'm up to 16 sheets of material..... lol
So much for ten, and optimism.

At the bottom there's material stacked and stitched up for fork pockets.

and, all of the parts including the door being shown. If I have time, I'm going to cut a TEQ logo out and put it in the round window in the door.
My buddy said I should make it a half moon like a s***house. I told him I'm going to put the TEQ logo in there, he said "Same thing isn't it?" I laughed pretty good.

I need to come up with a clever way to make those side windows apron out for some ventilation. I've gotta sense that the dog farts and stinking dude smell is going to get thick otherwise. Maybe I should think about some sort of door to add a fan to shovel air through there too.

As a reminder, this years poll at the top of the page will close at 4:11 PM tomorrow. This gives everyone a chance to change their votes to
Pollux Orange for this years event.

I just voted Pollux hoping to possibly influence a DUNE BEIGE option for 2024. 😉

Dune Beige was the color chosen for year three. That was the year we implemented letting everyone chose.
Year 4 was Olive, 5 was Cadet Blue and 6 was Freeborn Red.
