Moving to Hawaii. I need a vehicle more practical for a long commute between Kona and Hilo, an hour and a half drive between two mountains. Would like to trade for a early 200 series or possibly a late 100 series.

1972 FJ40 Land Cruiser, build date Oct 1971.

This work was done in Colorado by the previous owner, I have owned this FJ for about a year

- Crate SBC 350 with about 17k miles (sorry, previous owner provided no paperwork for the crate engine), new HEI distributor

- Holley Sniper EFI with about 700 miles on it. Self-tuning ECU, includes a color touchscreen for advance tuning and gauge displays. Upgraded entire fuel system with new 3/8" fuel lines to properly supply fuel to the EFI unit. Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband oxygen sensor and Holley in-line fuel pump

- New CCOT steel fuel tank and fuel sending unit

- Toyota LC H42 4spd transmission mated to a Toyota LC 3 speed t-case using an Advanced Adapter SBC to Toyota bellhousing. T-case rebuilt using Cruiser Outfitter supplied parts. Both shift smooth with no binding. T-case shifter plate has been modified to allow for 2 Low range. Strong custom t-case cross member (triangular design to allow for independent movement between frame and drivetrain)

- New Champion aluminum 4 core radiator, custom fan shroud with a two speed electric fan. Manual high speed fan switch wired in for slow moving traffic or crawling on the trails

- Custom 2.5" exhaust courtesy of AA Performance Muffler

- Front axle rebuilt with new wheel/trunnion bearings (Koyo), wheel seals, knuckle wipers, shims, etc. (Cruiser Outfitters supplied parts). Birfields were disassembled, inspected and reassembled. Converted to disc brakes. 27 spline count axle shafts. SST centering tool and new shims used for proper rebuild

- Rear axle disassembled and cleaned, new Koyo bearings installed along with oil seals, new Aussie locker, new brake shoes. Wheel cylinders inspected and cleaned

- Axles are still geared with stock 4.11 gears

- Front and rear drive shafts shortened/lengthened by Bill's Englewood Driveshaft

- Awesome power steering conversion! Steering box from a Chevrolet Astro, same as a traditional Saginaw box except the internals are reversed. It essentially allows the steering box to be mounted and protected inside the frame rails unlike a Saginaw box which sits outside the front frame cross member. No death wobble, tracks straight. Custom tie rod from Cruiser outfitters

- Near new 33x10.50x15 BFG KM2 tires mounted on Land Cruiser stock steel non-riveted wheels. Wheels were media blasted, epoxy primed and painted. Also includes the cool retro hub caps

- 2.5" Lift with Bilstein shocks

- Frame, body parts, and tub were media blasted by Blastech in Englewood, CO. New CCOT rear quarter panels welded in, rear sill replaced, and replaced rear cargo floor/decking.

- All parts were epoxy primed before being painted with 2 stage PPG paint

- Inside and underside of tub were epoxy primed and sprayed with Raptor liner, it's holding up excellent

- Original wiring harness was very rough, it was replaced with a much cleaner 1975 LC wiring harness. Unnecessary wires (2F and emissions) were removed to allow for a much cleaner SBC conversion

- New Blue Sea 12 circuit fuse block with negatives

- Bestop bucket seats installed up front along with a rear tumble seat, great condition. Bucket seats are mounted on slide rails. Custom seat frame for the bucket seats and locking Tuffy center console.

- New Dash Pad, not a glued on dash cap

- Redline Land Cruiser family roll cage with welded frame tie-ins.

-has a brand new heater.

Most recent improvements in the last six months.

-4 plus tire carrier w cooler carrier
-Real steal frame for soft top
-new soft top made of German canvas
-OEM running boards
-doors media blasted and painted.

Needs:
- It has a few oil leaks... (pinion oil seal, t-case output shaft, and possibly oil pan gasket)

-hard top

-windshield wipers work, but could be improved.

Gorgeous truck. Wish I had a trade candidate. GLWS

Interested in an uncommonly clean/very low mileage mild/moderately built 80 series?
