Testing the waters for anyone looking for a 4.3 gearset with elocked rear in the San Diego / So Cal region?
I'm biting the bullet and re-gearing to 4.88s now that I'm committed to 37s and possibly 38s.
Rather than tearing down my gearsets to swap 4.88 ring and pinions, this might be an opportunity for someone looking to regear with already proven and built diff assemblies by just swapping the rear diff carrier and front axle assembly.
The right rig would be a 6-speed 2008 to 2015 LC or LX. Would be able to get you swapped into 4.3s in a day/weekend and back on the road.
Plenty of documentation and info here:
Generally people purchase Harrop e lockers or arb lockers and install them into the diffs, rather than sourcing a 1998-1999 rear diff that has a locker.

Different 100 years had different gear ratio’s. Later ones had 4.10’s.I've read this whole thing and only feel dumber now
For 4.3 easiest DIY install, I need a tundra 4.3 front and a 100 series rear? Any 100 rear? And they bolt in, but may be a good idea to rebuild them? Lockers DO exist on some 100 series rears?
For 4.88 only option is to buy nitros? Anyone give a ballpark on having a shop do the 4.88?
