Small logo on the front and something like that on the back would be great....

I'm in for a few shirts.

Having no artistic abilities myself, I have no opinion as to where we get the design, but once we have a logo we can order any kind and quality of shirt you can imagine through my wife's high school.

It usually just costs us the price of the shirts, then my wife brings in some donuts or breakfast burritos and they print them up for free. This is an ROP class, so they don't do work for profit, only training.

I'll check with her if the deal would be the same, and make sure that the shop is still open during summer.

Aw, you are no fun Brent. You are supposed to have strong opinion one way or the other. How else can I mess with you? ;p

I was not able to call Bid Deal today; I just arrived in Hollister, CA for Four Wheeler’s, Top Truck Challenge. I will try and give him a call tomorrow. So am I correct, you guys do not want 22's with low profiles?

i want low pro z rated mt's, trxus or good year will be fine, or maybe falken?

The more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to go with something more classy than funked up like this artwork. Not that I don't like it, just not my style.

Tare, you have a damn cool job. I know you work hard but that is cool. :D I definitely don't want 22's with low profiles, I was thinking 30's. I saw a nice set of gold straight lace Daytons with with three fin knock offs (seriously) at Goodyear's display booth at the CORR race last year. I say we get a set of those on Brent's truck for the picture. :flipoff2:

Brent, just kidding above. We should definitely put it to a vote and go with majority rule. Either way I think it will be cool. No word yet on my end I will pester the :princess: to check with her friend so we can have options. Are you still going to check with FirstToy or would you rather wait until we decide on style? Perfectly fine either way.

James has done so much for so many people with his talent, lets see what we come up with.

I agree with Brent, our 80's have an air of refinement to them, and demand classy representation (turning my nose up in the air).

I'm not talking about a pic of an 80 with one wheel up on a curb "flexing" at South Coast Plaza, but maybe a scene like "The Endless Summer" with a lifted, well-equiped 80 on the sand, maybe a longboard on top, with the setting sun behind it.

For a true representation of the SoCal lifestyle, we could have a well-equiped 80 sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the 405.:flipoff2:

My point is, are rigs are as much at home at the Ritz-Carlton as they are on the John Bull Trail, so maybe we could try to somehow show that balance.

Whatever you think is best Brent is AOK with me. :D

When I get done with my rig the valets at the Ritz-Carlton would wear a bag on their head so no one would see them park it! :flipoff2:

Now, now, lets not turn our noses up in the air. I agree that we should have a graphic that represents how we want to be projected as a whole along with our vehicle of choice. I am familiar with the Big Deal style of graphics on shirts as they are quite common in the desert racing circles. I even have a couple of shirts with that style of graphic. I have never thought them to be tacky or lacking class but I associate them with big dollar race teams. I guess that what I am saying is that I humbly disagree that a Big Deal graphic does not do the 80 justice. I am not pushing one idea vs another, I like all the ideas presented thus far. You and Brent have a valid point and whatever we choose needs to be mutually agreeable.

Going the Big Deal route could also be a more expensive option for us all which is a factor, at least it is for me. The less detailed and the fewer colors the cheaper the shirts will be to produce as you well know. Personally I would like at least 2-3 colors and a fair amount of detail and with a good quality 100% cotton shirt. I don't want them to look too cheap or cost too much.

I like the Endless Summer idea as well, I even have both movies so the image could be potentially scanned as a starting point and modified from there or just drawn from scratch. We are starting to get alot of ideas. Good stuff keep it coming all.

Official count for shirts so far:
Dan- 2
Eduardo- 1
Brent- 1
Scott- 2 (1 female cut)
Ray- 1
Tare- 1
John- 2?
Bluto- 3 (2 XL different colors, 1 small)
Mo- 2 maybe 3

Let me know if I forgot anyone or if you want in. For that matter I can start tallying sizes and color choices.

Mo - hadn't done the flares yet, and don't recall if they were off yet, but the valet at the Ritz in Dana Point loved the truck last time I was down there a month or two ago! Still wouldn't park it right out front tho! No room next to the Porsches', Ferrari's, etc.

Very cool. I forgot that the valets are usually young hip guys that would dig such a cool ride. I should have said the maitre'd. I pictured my truck with at least 6" lift, durabak'd, wheelwell's trimmed, bead locked 37" BFG Krawlers, full armor, and some good trail/rock crawling patina. So basically my dream 80 that I could never afford standing out like a terd in a puch bowl amongst the Porsches, Ferraris, etc. I love sticking it in the face of the elite fascists! I ..... I better shut up now. :D :flipoff2:

Mo, you're going to get yourself kicked right out of Mission Viejo!:ban:

I was thinking today (I know, never a good thing) about how many 80's I see on the road and in parking lots, etc. I think once we get a logo worked up and agreed upon I'm going to make up some business cards on the computer to hand out to potential "club members". With Woody's permission I'll advertise our SoCal 80's section and Mud in general so folks can check in for upcoming events and to see what we're all about.

Since we have no dues/officers/meetings (except for runs) I think this psuedo-club will appeal to alot of people.

I don't normally condone that type of activity (thinking) but you have an excellent idea there. They might scream and run away as well but we will never know untill we try. :D

Hey Mo, so what exactly was that check for that you "made" me give you. You said you were treasurer. Did it do to the HG fund???
