Getting ready to SOA my boys’ fj40 and was wondering what’s the common shock length. I have Ford shock towers for the front. Is it 12” front and 10” rear?

Thanks!

I think I’m 14 front 12 rear. Hoops in the front (but similar height to the ford towers). The rears are short body bilsteins which allowed me to get more travel in a smaller total length.

Thanks for the responses! It’ll be an FJ60 front axle that’s been widened ~3” and an FJ60 rear. Stock front springs and FJ55 rears. Bunch of parts I’ve had sitting around and the boys are finally to the age they can help and learn. Also have 4x4 labs 6 stud arms and 37” STT Pros. I’ll post up some pics when we get started.

sorry for the 4 year bump, but do you happen to have a part number on those rear shocks? thanks!

I should have them somewhere in my email. I’ll look this week…don’t hesitate to give me a friendly reminder!

The top mount is sleeved and welded with dom tubing. The lower mount was one I bought from somewhere are welded on the axle.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Great mount idea with the sleeving, still figuring that out as well.
