I did that when it snowed hard before I got the prefilter, worked better than forward but was still worse than the stock setup. It really is a great system and I really don't think that an extra $6 every 3 months for a filter is a big deal....and again, I think it would be a moot point in the warmer climates.

with the 62, the snorkel is a ways down on the list even though it's great insurance.

got the dash cup holder, and CDL, what else. . roof rack with lights, gear queer brush guard i can't wait to throw to the trash heap, and 2.5 OME lift w/ stainless extended brake lines. Ran out of money. :D

Also need the extra cup holder on the transmission hump and the middle row cup holders on the rear of the center console.

What does the pre cleaner look like?

Basically looks like the thing on top of the snorkel

It sucks air from below and there are plastic blades (ha - it's a Hiclone :o) that spin the air around. The plastic is formed with a bowl that catches the heavier dust/dirt/insects - it's funny to watch dead insects spin around.

There's a knurled nut on top that you loosen to remove the lid, then you pull out the plastic bowl and empty out your lunch :D

After smashing through thick bush often enough - the plastic bowl will eventually crack/break - at least it's relatively cheap to replace.

george.

They also come on the intakes of many farm tractors. I have one on a John Deere 3010. So, they could be found at tractor salvage yards if so inclined.

Bill

Welcome back Bill!

Let me bring you up to date so you won't have to read 4,000 old posts.

Junk's momma is doing fine.
Dan lost a few gray cells, some more hair, and a lot of oil.
Woody is a distant 3rd in post counts. We're voting next week to make C-Dan or Junk the new sysadmin.
Landpimp is a new old guy. He is trying to buy all the cruisers. (Not 1 of each... ALL of them.)
Rick likes his new tyres and he's getting high off the "new tyre" smell since the spare rides shotgun.
Junk's momma has made a lot of friends on the board and is financially set for life.
Gumby still runs a child labor sweatshop and his leopard print thong is put away for the winter.
Rogue is broke and horny. The two are somehow related but it's not clear how.
Search for IdahoDoug's bike ride post in Chat. Use keyword "blood".
Tyler washed his curtains and is lusting after AsiaMike's OEM curtains.
Riley and Simon have risen to the top of the list of birfield repack experts.
-H- and Geddy posted an outstanding trip report on a Baja journey.
E99999999 hasn't found an 80 yet, but he's close. His wife bought a 100 though.
Junk made a post back in October that added value to the thread. That was a milestone for IH8MUD.
Eric bought another 80 for the dogs. He's planning 7 sets of seat covers on this one too.
Pitbull is conducting a "how long can we neglect the front axle" test. Kenton is his cheerleader.
cruiserman had to rebuild his engine due to a piston meltdown.
Kurt found and fixed another leak. He's moving to Mexico in July 'cause it's cold at his house.
Christo has some new goodies on his web site. Get out the checkbook.
Robbie has been getting muddy with us lately. He's the tech at Slee Offroad.
Bailey's family bought an 80. He may graduate from high school or get a GED.
Some newbie got me pi$$ed off a month or so back and I allllllmost hit the GDB. That was a bad day.
Regardless of what you've heard, those are just cold sores on Junk's momma and it's NOT contagious.
(If I left anyone out then I apologize and ...... :flipoff2: )

We've reached a group concensus on the following:
Oil is good, especially when it stays in the engine.
Tyres are good. The bigger, the better. Gnarly tyres are great.
Gears are good. The lower or higher [your choice] the better.
97's are the best. It doesn't matter at what.
1FZ-FE Head gaskets are ___________ (fill in the blank)
Toilet paper is nasty, especially used toilet paper.
Cold is bad. Things quit working and break.
Grease is good so use lots of it.

Wow, that's about it...... :ban:

You forgot to tell him to get in the drawing :slap:

See, you didn't miss much.

Oh yeah, C-Dan's giving parts away. The way I heard it, the first 10 Mudders that show up at his counter today get whatever they can carry for free! (Must be present to win.)

(How much does a S/C weigh?)

Good stuff Beo....I can't stop laughing................

Tank

That should read "Must be pleasant to win" :flipoff2:

Beoweoulf,
you forgot the short lived turn as NIMROD !!!!!
and about 2000 tire and oil question threads
also 49.5 instances of junk telling mewbies to use the search function.
Dave

fAve,

I didn't forget about Nimrod (geeze man, my memory isn't THAT short...) but I didn't think it met the criteria for something that Bill should know to get him back in the swing of things.

(Now Derek's dirt paranoia might be a candidate for a 2nd tier status report.) :D

>>(Now Derek's dirt paranoia might be a candidate for a 2nd tier status report.)

Now what would this status report entail? ::)

I would also like to add that I'm currently rebuilding the font axle and man is that thing dirty!
