hey don't get me wrong it was good but there is another level of bbq I believe you can only get down here. I will give you that they make better pizza up north than here, it works both ways.

Indeed

I have to confess that I've never had really good southern BBQ actually in the south, mostly because I've only rarely traveled there. But if it's much better than what I make myself it will kill me, mine is pretty awesome.

I need to visit one of you guys just for that purpose. :hhmm:

I have had Southern(Atlanta) BBQ and can see where they have mastered the style and yes the left over grease and smoke helps but growing up on Texican and Santa Maria Western style, I like the dry rub, oak smoked flavor. Thats my taste, not shooting down Southern BBQ but its not all in the South, either. Its just aquired taste.

Southern BBQ is wet, sloppy and smells like cucumbers, just like their women...

Atlanta isn't where you want to go. Fat Matt's Rib Shack is about the best Atlanta has to offer that I've had, and it pales in comparison to either the original Dreamland in Tuscaloosa or even the best barbecue on earth, Archibald's.
