I’ve got a spare pump that worked great when I pulled it. It has about 140,000 miles on it. $100 bucks plus shipping if anybody wants it.

Just heard from BZ. My used pump I bought was missing a couple of vanes and the cost to rebuild was $245 including shipping back to TX. Okay by me if I know I have good vanes in there now.

1991-1991 Toyota Landcruiser 3FE FJ80 Smog Air Pump | eBay

So I got the pump and it was a really POS. In order to take it apart, it required getting a pry bar wedged between the two outer-housing pieces. There was so much rust in this piece that by the time I got it taken apart the vanes were in a bunch of broken up pieces.

When I first opened the box, I tried to spin the pulley. No go. After looking into the air pump vents I saw a sea of rust.

Well, at least it was only $25.

The cast housing on my smog pump is cracked and chipped off a few threads on the top support arm (3FE smog pump position).

If you want to send me some parts I'd be interested in buying it.

Your price is too high for my needs. Since my housing is just cracked and hygge mentioned a cheap one I am thinking of that for just the case.

i thought u were just gonna simply send this $25 one to the the smog pump rebuilder and have them deal with it ? / rebuild it

The thing was so broken that I am not sure how much they could rebuild. But I mostly wanted to see how it worked. I could still send it to them for a rebuild. It's going to need a complete overhaul.

This rebuilder (ebay link above) has dropped his Ebay price to a very low $145 + $50 core = $195 total. Incredible price. I suspect he won't offer anymore after this .... If you need one, now is the time. Only two left.

What a difference a good Smog Pump makes:

My O2 numbers were always around 0.1 % which indicates a faulty Air Injection system. Normal should be around 1-2%

I see he's got one pump left but the price went back up.

Ok - This place is the REAL DEAL!

I asked them to do exactly what they do for SOR - The body of the SOR pumps are not repainted as they want to keep the OE stickers. They will paint that usual industrial reman gray if you ask.

I have not taken it apart, but it definitely feels like new vanes - Many years ago, I got my hands on a NOS unit at SOR and I was surprised at how stiff if turned- I was told when the vanes are new, it's a tight fit so the air output is high. This unit feels JUST LIKE THAT.

Even better, $195 - Same as they charge SOR. About $50 cheaper than Rebuilding Factory.

This place also does Steering Gear Boxes and of course Alts, and Starters.

In the bottom pic, next to the pump, is a Ferrari 308GT AC compressor ...

I bought a rebuilt unit from them and received last week. Appears to be a solid rebuild. Going to keep it in the parts stash for the future. Good find.

Over the last 10 years I can't even remember how many times I've tested every little bit in the smog systems. Everything was testing good.

This is my smog test from a Month or so ago with a rebuilt 'Rebuilding Factory' air pump with only 5K miles on it:

Great find. May have my removed pump done. When I had mine smogged the pump was in place as required but it was toast and not functioning. Passed without a problem.

Ain’t gonna be a problem no more. Heading to Texas this month!

Great info on rebuilding. I’ve got a few spares but dreading the day mine dies.

If and when you take your in, let me know. I have at lest two I would like rebuilt and maybe they can give us a better deal.
