Smart Phone holder idea

The one I'm working on for the 100 wont be suction or vent mounted. I'm still working on attachment, but it will be secure in any temp conditions.

I want one for my iphone 4s, how much?

Every iteration of the iPhone is different. I can't imagine it's cost effective to design for the iPhone 4 now that the 5 AND 6 exist.

The holder just needs to be open on both ends at the bottom and not a closed slot. That would allow any width phone to slide into it. If you look at the universal suction mount phone holders out there they have a hook on the bottom and an adjustable top piece (up and down) to lock it in. Mine will follow along those lines. No reason to reinvent the wheel when good ideas are already out there.

It would be really nice if you guys could come up with a replacement for the factory cup holder altogether. Maybe a phone/gps holder that would bolt to the two original screws inside the cubby.

I like that idea; a multifunctional mount with a quick release mechanism for the cubby hole.

I can already see it now, phone holder is the new cup holder. Threads upon threads of phone holders. :flipoff2:

OK so this is what I was talking about.

Thats a good idea. I love the snap-in phone holders that you can buy but unfortunately they dont work with aftermarket cases. So I designed and 3d printed my own. It just clips on to practically any of these flexible suction cup arms.

The problem with makerbot is that most will only print PLA and that deforms quite badly over about 40 degrees Celsius, so i had to print this in ABS which is good for well over 100*C

I have also 3d printed some extra gauge holders for the overhead console and under the radio:

Yes I know there are multiple outside temp gauges but I have been experimenting with different ideas :-)

It is indeed hard to find holders that for aftermarket cases. What case/phone did you design yours around?
